Want to know what’s dangerous? The fact that Ulta is right next to our grocery store. All that has to happen is we run out of paper towels and somehow I’m picking up a new lipstick. It’s not safe you guys. Not safe.

Last week I needed to run and pick up something for Paul to grill and naturally I thought, “I’ll just pop in Ulta for 5 minutes.” Honestly, I can get A LOT accomplished in 5 minutes if Paul is watching Maxi. 5 minutes with a baby vs. 5 minutes alone feels like a 2 hour difference. haha! I’m nosey and love seeing what people pick up from their errands, so I thought it would be fun to share what I got! It’s also Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty sale, so it’s the perfect time to “run to the grocery store” if ya know what I mean! 😉 It started on March 19th, but it is still running until April 8th if you want to run there this week.

1. Redken Fashion Work 12: I picked this hairspray up after having it saved on a list in my iPhone for almost 2 years! I actually heard about this hairspray during fashion week in 2015 from a hairstylist working a show. He was telling me how it’s meant for color-treated hair and gives you an 8-hour hold with humidity protection but maintains movement in your hair! I’ve used it for a week and have no complaints so far-which is great because it’s about $10 less than the hairspray I typically use.

2. Kenra Silkening Mist: Kendra hair products smell SO good! I first started using them last year with their Silkening Gloss [which smells like strawberries!] and had to pick up the silkening mist. I love this for my ends because it keeps them soft without weighing them down. However, be careful to not spray on your roots, otherwise they can look oily!

 3. Kenra Brightening Treatment: Being a blonde, I use purple/blue shampoo regularly. This is an intense toning treatment that is supposed to be salon grade. I used it once this week and I definitely could see a difference. This is much more saturated than a purple shampoo and combats brassiness quickly. If your hair tends to dry out, always finish with a conditioner as toners can dry your hair. A lot of online reviews say if you use it 3 times in a week you can put off a highlight appointment or toning appointment for a few weeks! #SavingMoney

 4. Kenra Silkening Gloss: This is the Kenra product that got me hooked on their line! It gives you softness and shine without making your hair greasy and the smell! I need them to bottle this and sell it as body wash, lotion and perfume. This was a repurchase as I ran out of my last bottle.

 5. Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream: If you have never tried self tanner or self tanner makes you nervous, you need to click “Add to cart” or run to Ulta now. I’m telling you this as your friend! I test self tanners weekly for the blog. I’ve tried everything. I have a basket of ones I love and a basket of ones I hate. This is probably the best self tanner I have tried in terms of a natural one. Now I am not partial to any kind. Natural, super dark…I love them all! But I also work from home so if I’m a little too dark one day, no big deal. It washes off! But I know so many girls get nervous about self tanner and streaks and the smell. This has no smell, applies so naturally and leaves no streaks. It also didn’t stain my sheets. And girls that self tan…. you know all about the sheet test! haha. It doesn’t give you a super dark tan, more of a “I went to the pool for 2 days and had on enough sunscreen!” look. That’s exactly what you want if you haven’t tried self tanner before and are nervous about the results.

 6. Clinique Makeup Removing Wipes: I think this is my 6th pack of these wipes. Everything comes off with on one towel as opposed to having to use two! I’m always repurchasing.

 7. Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation: I use Too Faced bronzer and love the texture, so I thought I’d try a powder. I haven’t used it in a full makeup routine just yet, but I did throw it in my purse to touch up throughout the day.

 8. Lollibalm: My mom put this in my stocking at Christmas this year, so this was me repurchasing as I had ran out. I wasn’t sure if I would like it because I don’t typically love the Benefit cheek/lip stains. I loved this stuff as you can see from how quickly I went through the first tube! haha! This is the only tinted lip balm I’ve tried that actually produces a color different than your lip’s natural shade. It’s still sheer, but I love that I can tell a difference other than just Chapstick.

 9. L’Oréal Infallible Black Velvet Eyeliner: I hadn’t tried this before, but was curious about the velvet applicator. I really like to blend in my eyeshadow with a brush, so what I love about this formula is that it doesn’t dry with a “wet” look [like a lot of liquid liner products] so I’m able to make it more smokey with a brush.

10. Lancome Lipstick #202: I have no shame. I simply bought this lipstick because I saw it on a blogger’s  tutorial on Youtube and she looked gorgeous! It’s a good summer nude because it isn’t matte so you don’t look too washed out!

11. Tarte Maneater Mascara: This is my second tube of this mascara and I love to mix it with this one!

12. UD Lipstick in Heartless: These matte lipsticks are called comfort matte and they don’t dry out your lips! I get a lot of e-mails from readers asking for a lipstick that gives you a liquid lipstick look but with a much more moisturized feel, and I think this fits the bill! I wore it to dinner with Paul Friday so you can see what it looks like here. 🙂

13. UD Gubby Liner: I hadn’t tried this liner before! It’s a bit frosty but great if you prefer a natural look. I’d fill my lips with this and apply a clear gloss!

 14. Benefit POREfessional Face Primer: I got this as a freebie sample along with a coupon for my “birthday month” which is always an extra excuse to shop! I’ve had 4 or 5 tubes of this before so it was nice to have another sample.

15. Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster: Out of everything I purchased, this is by far the best product! You just put 2 to 3 drops of it in your normal face moisturizer at night and wake up with a glow. Self tanning your face is always a hassle [in my opinion] because a lot of tanners break your face out or you don’t get to use your typical nightly products. I just add this in what I normally use and wake up streak and blemish free!

16. Venus Razors: Always a necessity. Always.

Here is a list for the 21 Days of Beauty sale if you want to see what is available each day as well!

Have you picked up anything from Ulta lately?!

  1. I love everything Clinique, and I’m lazy as heck, so those makeup wipes would be great for me. I never knew Clinique made wipes!

  2. I picked up the It Cosmetics powder and some Mario Badescu products during their 21 days of beauty sale along with the Benefit primer after loving the birthday sample. I also love the Clarins face tanner. I used it before my wedding and it was perfect for a natural glow.

Umm buying both the Clarins products IMMEDIATELY. I have a beach trip at the end of the month and I don’t need to be blinding the poor residents of Florida with my white legs LOL.

    Thanks for sharing!

I love this! It is always interesting to see what people purchase. I am always interested to see what beauty items you use! My mom uses clarins products for her regular skincare (she’s not a self tanner user!) and swears by them. I will need to check out the self tanner!
