The Sephora VIB Sale

We did it! We did it! We did it! We are moved {with a baby #WooHoo} and not anywhere close to being settled! ha! My mom moved 30-something times as a child since her dad was a home builder. I am at a loss as to how my Meme moved 4 daughters and got everyone unpacked. I’m at a loss. But thankfully, we had our little village helping. My mom wins Gigi of the year, my dad was able to take off work today since Paul couldn’t and Paul’s parents come over tonight to help. I’ve loved seeing Maxi crawl around her new spot and we are just so grateful that God provided us with a wonderful home to raise our family in. But enough moving/sappy talk…let’s get to the frivolity.

It’s the beginning of November which means a lot of things. Hallmark Christmas movies are on Hellman TV {Marry Me at Christmas last Saturday was SO good!} and the Sephora VIB Sale starts- just to name a few! 😉

The Sephora VIB Sale always has a lot of buzz, but also a little bit of confusion on when you can shop it if you are VIB Rouge or VIB. I thought I’d share what I’m purchasing and help clear up any questions. There are two levels of VIB: VIB Rouge and VIB. However, this year 3 levels can shop. If you are a regular Beauty Insider you get to shop as well which I’ll share below. I am guilty to being part of the VIB Rouge gang. AKA I buy unnecessary amounts of eyeshadows and always think I’m one more Beautyblender away from achieving the right kind of dewy skin.

  • November 3-6th is for VIB Rouge. You use your code 20FORROUGE.
  • November 10-15th is for VIB and your code will be 20FORVIB.

These both get you 20% off your order!

  • November 10-15th is for Beauty Insider as well. Use your code INSIDER15 for 15% off

Now what makes the Sephora sale different? When luxury department stores have sales, a lot of times specific beauty brands are off limits. Another issue with beauty sales is they usually only allow you to use the code once. Sephora allows you to shop as frequently as your heart desires during the sale dates with your coupon code.

Before I shop I always like to make a list and consider if I’m getting gifts for the holidays, stocking up on products or splurging on something I normally wouldn’t purchase! Determine what you’re comfortable with and I sometimes make a percentage to follow. Ultimately, here is the list I went with!

For Mom

Bobbi Brown Nude Drama Eyeshadow Palette

We moved this week and I’ve been trying to treat my parents to little things here or there to show our appreciation for them letting us live with them this summer. It was such a selfless act on their part and they deserve a few treats for it! 😉 I always get my mom Bobbi Brown eyeshadow palettes for gifts. There was a palette part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I purchased for her for her birthday. Welllll, little miss Maxi threw the palette. Pigment went flying everywhere. You get the idea. I plan on replacing that palette with this new one. I actually prefer this palette to the other one because I think you get a nice mix of warm and cool toned neutrals. Before 20% off this retails for $59.

For Sister

STILA Star-Studded Eight Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Set

My sister is in college and training for a half marathon, so half the time she isn’t thinking about lipstick! However, I cleaned out her makeup bag before college and I only left her with one lipstick- oops! She’s going to football games on the weekend with friends and fun events so she will wear a pop or pink or red. These Stila liquid lipsticks are my favorite of all liquid lipstick and really last if you’re in college and don’t have time to reapply. This set is a steal and the perfect size since she isn’t wearing it each and every day. Before 20% off this retails for $49, it is originally a $96 value.

bareMINERALS The Hidden Treasure Ready® 18.0 Eyeshadow Palette

I saw this palette last weekend in store and I stood over it a good 5 minutes. I’m not in the market for a new eyeshadow palette, but the temptation was so strong. I really love the pigmentation of bareMINERALS eyeshadows and these colors are such rich neutrals. My sister loves to wear these kinds of shades so I definitely want to get this for her with her birthday next weekend! Before 20% off this palette is $46, but it is already a $90 value.

For Friends

Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip

I started this week off talking about keeping a gift closet and how it is a great way to budget for birthdays and holidays. Is this not the most perfect gift for it?! First off, what a splurge-worthy gift [under $70!] for a best friend or sister?! However, you could easily break this gift up and have 15 individual gifts throughout the year to combine with a Starbucks gift card or something small. I think it would be perfect to pair a lipstick from this kit with baked goods for the holidays. Before 20% off this is $68 and it is originally a $254 value.

GLOW RECIPE Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask

Earlier, this mask had a 5,000+ person wait list. Oh, you read that right. 5,000. Why is it so fabulous? First off, this is a Korean Beauty brand which is such a buzz right now. When you look at the ingredients you will see hyaluronic-acid, alpha-hydroxy acid and watermelon extract. This mask claims to give you plump skin, while brightening and soothing. I also love the millennial-pink packaging to gift to a girlfriend. I think it’s safe to assume this mask will sell out quickly with the sale given it’s history. Before 20% off this mask is $45.

For Splurging

GHD Curve 1.25″ Soft Curl Iron

In my All About Hair post, I share that I love the T3 & GHD curling irons. I love them for different reasons [which I go into depth on in that post] but I don’t have the GHD in a 1.25″. I used to, but my sister took it to college so I ended up swapping her for her 1″. That’s definitely not a necessity but I’ve wanted this size in that for about six or seven months. I like to use the VIB Sale to splurge on one item I may not normally grab because it isn’t a need or an item I’m replacing. Before 20% off this retails for $199.

Dr. Brandt needles no more® NO MORE BAGGAGE™ eye de-puffing gel

I’ve never been one to really prioritize sleep. I truly want to be better about that, maybe 2018? But being Type A I always think sleep can be the first to go. I can’t miss something on my to-do list, right?! #wrong. Anyways, lack of sleep never affected my under-eye area until Maxi was about 6 months old. I woke up to pretty dark circles, freaked out [thought I was sick!], sent ALL my girlfriends selfies of me with bed head and asked what had happened. I thought I was having a Michelle Money moment. They all laughed and said, “Welcome to motherhood.” The past 3 months I’ve tried lots of eye products and some work while others are complete flops. However, I follow one blogger on Instagram that showed this product on her Insta Stories and I’ve never seen anything like it. Her dark circles and puffiness were gone in 10 seconds. I think I’ve tried about 3 or 4 drugstore eye products that claim to do all of this and I maybe like one. So I definitely want to try this! It’s a little more pricy but these types of products honestly last 7 months to a year because your under-eye area is so thin you only need a tiny bit of product. Before 20% off this retails for $42.

OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum®

If you remember, I keep an album in my phone of beauty items I screenshot from bloggers to purchase. This Truth Serum is one I’m continually snapping because girls rave about it so much. Honestly, I’m really happy with my skincare routine and don’t need it. But I don’t have Vitamin C in my routine and hear consistently how that is one big key for even skin tone. The VIB Sale is always a time I like to try a new product because I can get it on sale and if I hate it, Sephora is very understanding with their return policy. I would recommend the 1 oz bottle as all the research I’ve read on Vitamin C serums claim that you don’t want to get too big of a bottle as it can stop working if the product is sitting too long once exposed to air. I need to find the articles I read that say that because I don’t want to word it incorrectly, but they all claim to get smaller bottles. Before 20% off, the 1 oz bottle retails for $48.

For Restocking

L’Occitane Almond Smoothing and Beautifying Supple Skin Oil

This is the one product I purchase EACH and every VIB Sale. I’m a L’Occitane fanatic and that is putting it nicely. I keep an entire basket of L’Occitane products tucked away in our bathroom for fear of ever running out. I mix 2 drops of this Supple Skin Oil into whatever moisturizer I’m using after the shower. You can use this alone and I do when my skin is very dry, but that’s my trick for making this last. I go through about 4 bottles a year and try to buy 2 each VIB sale. Their hand creams also make wonderful gifts, my mom puts them in my stocking each year! 🙂 Before 20% off this retails for $50.

Tweezerman x HUDA BEAUTY Slant Tweezer

Does anything really beat Tweezerman? I think not. Now I know you can get them resharpened but I either lose my tweezers or just plain forget you can do that. I get a pair each VIB sale to last me through the year. How cute are these for their HUDA collab?! Before 20% off these are $26. That’s definitely pricy for tweezers but I find with these tweezers I’m never having to get my eyebrows waxed because these work so well!

Laura Mercier Mode To Modern Caviar Stick Eye Colour Collection

One of my very first *big* blog campaigns was with Laura Mercier. I honestly think I cried when I got asked if I wanted to work with them because I was in shock. Laura Mercier has always been a staple in my makeup bag throughout the years. From her foundation primers to translucent powders, Laura Mercier is a brand that knows how to make skin look good. Notice how I said skin and not makeup. I always love when people notice my skin over my blush. Her makeup isn’t lacking pigmentation but you never feel overdone. I could go on and on, but my absolute favorite product of the line would have to be Caviar Sticks. My very first one [years ago!] was in the shade Amethyst. I’ve had just about every color since then and they are so easy for getting ready quickly. I’m 100% out of my Caviar Sticks and thought about getting one when I popped in Neiman Marcus the other day but remembered the VIB Sale. I like that you get 4 of these including my fav, Amethyst. I wanted to try the new matte ones and this set includes the 2 most popular matte shades. This is the product I’m probably most excited to purchase! Before 20% off this retails for $38 and is a $70 value.

STILA Huge Extreme Lash Mascara

An e-mail I receive frequently is if I have lash extensions or not. It’s a pretty natural curiosity as bloggers always try out products or beauty services to tell y’all! I’ve never had lash extensions because this mascara truly makes your lashes look like falsies. I eat, breathe, sleep Stila Huge Lash Mascara and Stila Perla Liquid Lipstick. P.S. if you need a liquid lipstick, grab that! I just am not restocking because I have a few! Before 20% off this mascara is $23.

I hope you enjoyed this type of post breaking down what is in my cart! Do you shop the VIB Sale and will you pick anything up?!

  1. Ooh thanks for the recommendations. I’ve personally never shopped at Sephora before, but looks like I’ve got to, since everyone raves about it! 🙂

The OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum is good, but I LOVE the Caudalie Radiance Serum! I totally drank the kool-aid on their whole brand, but this serum is made from grapevine sap which is said to be 62x more effective than vitamin C. I also love Overnight Recovery Oil for dry to extra dry skin, although I have fairly normal skin. I wake up and my face looks so dewy and plump.

I’ve been searching your blog and insta for the past hour and can’t find where you mentioned something about your favorite/most comfortable pair of heels. I hope I’m not making that up bc that’s embarrassing, but I really want to find some!

Hi Melinda! I can’t 100% remember which heels. I know I’ve talked about the most comfortable flats, but I can almost guarantee I’ve done heels too and you aren’t making this up! Let me think and try to search around! xo
