The Cotton Dress That’s a Must for Spring

Hello, hello, hello, friends! What a week last week was. COFxMJ launched, went to NYC for work, came back early because of the storm coming in, got ready for a party for 70 people in our backyard, hosted said party, Maxi’s molars came in {those are no joke!} and shot some of the most exciting COF campaigns to date. Last night I was sitting in our living room at 6:30 and asked Paul why I was so tired.

I mean, y’all, I don’t get out much. Going to Chick-Fil-A in the middle of the day is a BIG deal in my book, so last week was quite major, quite exciting and made me quite sleepy.

But we aren’t here to talk about how tired we are on a Monday. BORING! Let’s chat about the cotton dress your closet needs. I really use the term “need” loosely because we don’t need any of this stuff. Ever. But this dress is quite versatile AND I truly appreciate that it works for so many body types. I had this dress when I was pregnant and lived in it and I bought the black version for now. I’ve seen this number on short girls, tall girls, curvy girls and muscular girls. It’s perfection each and every time and I love when a brand gets something right like that! This dress allows you to wear it, it doesn’t wear you.

Let’s talk the details! It’s under $60 and runs TTS. When I was pregnant I went up one size and because of the ruched detailing on the side it worked up until I was about 7 months pregnant. I’m telling you, this dress is cut, hemmed and ruched in all the right places for every girl’s body.

And with 8 different colors to choose from, you’re able to pick your prefered color for your skin tone and hair color. I went with black because I wanted to layer fun jackets like this camo one over.

Curious about these flats? They are by Sam Edelman and last week I met with their team. The first question I asked was how they got their flats so comfortable. They told me about their patented design in the sole, so it makes sense these feel like you’re walking on little silk clouds from the heavens. The woven pattern is great for summer, as well. It gets so hot here in the summers that sometimes even wearing flats feels a bit weird, but I believe these will be an exception.

Here’s to versatile pieces in our wardrobe and us having a better week than Arie did last week! 😉 I kid! I kid! Call me crazy, but I didn’t think last week’s episode was all THAT major. I thought it was completely wrong and disrespectful, but I didn’t feel as shocked as our main man, Chris H, promised. Maybe it is because I’m STILL annoyed for Melissa. Now I thought THAT was some juicy stuff back in the day!

  1. The cotton dress is such a classic! I love the whole look – casual and chic. So glad the weather’s warmer now so we can wear shorter skirts and pants! 🙂
