Spring Face via LC

I’m sure STEEEEPHHEEEENNN (Kristin Cavallari voice) is thoroughly regretting how badly he messed up on Laguna Beach thanks to this Allure cover.
It’s spring and therefore I almost vomit every time I hear someone mention orange lipstick and colored eyeshadow. Please tell me what whitening toothpaste will ever make orange lipstick look good on my skin? I am not Italian and therefore, it just won’t work.
Or maybe it’s because anytime I’ve told my mother I’ve wanted to drastically change my hair or makeup she has looked at me with sweet eyes and said, “Why so insecure, darling?” So I typically stick to what works (accentuating my eyes and big waves) and vary it by season. So if bright pink lips work for you year round, just change the shade for spring and leave it at that! The best trend is the one that looks good on you.
Thankfully there are spring makeup trends that typically stay the same each year and are right up my ally: bold brows, gilded eyes, radiant skin and cat eyes. Lauren Conrad is not an eyeshadow girl (neither am I) and if she can rock this look in spring, so can you. The key is to use a light hand in every aspect of your look. Don’t overload on blush or lips. And invest in your skin. In the winter, I’m a disgusting human being and always think it is too cold to take my makeup off before bed. I know I know. Shoot me. But the money and time you invest in your skin this spring will help you feel a lot more Giselle in your bikini.
Do NOT layer on tons of highlighter and bronzer. That is what winter is for. This spring get Lauren’s glow through using oil-based serums and cleansing balms. No, I’m not being a mean friend that wants you to break out. Oil attracts oil. When you wash your face with a foaming product or use “mattifying” moisturizer your skin will be dull and overproduce oil. Sick. This Clinique cleansing balm takes all your mascara off but keeps skin glowing and Josie Maran Argan Oil can be used on everything from fine lines to split ends. So I’m actually being your BEST friend and saving you money. 😉 Light makeup and properly moisturized skin will somehow melt together and have you looking like a bombshell in an hour.
