Fall To Do

I feel really behind for fall. Like reallllly behind.
Every time I go to get dressed I don’t even want to look at my options because I’ve bought nothing. I’m going to be sitting in ice [In Texas we don’t have snow, we have ice. And when we have ice our state doesn’t function for a week.] in jean shorts.
Lately, my to-do list has been ridiculous. For the past few months I will pack my schedule to the brim. My days start at 6 a.m. and I can’t remember the last night I wasn’t working until 9 or 10. Of course I have meetings and lunches with friends in between, but I’ve felt like I could never get anything done.
When your to-do list has 47 things on it daily, and you never cross them all off, the last thing I’ve really thought about is purchasing fall dresses and scarves. [I have managed to buy handbags and heels. Because heels are really functional in 42 degrees…]
I saw this Riffraff sweater back in the summer and my first thought was, “If I don’t get my hands on that I may throw a tantrum.” I did what any other normal human being does and stalked the site…daily. If I have accomplished anything these past few months, I did get my hands on this bad boy.
It has neon touches. It is warm. And it is so comfortable. [I hate using the word comfortable on a style blog, but I was tempted to say it is like a polar bear is hugging you, and I thought that was a bit extreme.] So, I lied. I’ll be sitting in ice in jean shorts and the best little sweater ever, and I guess I can’t complain.
Do you ever go through periods you feel like you can’t get anything completely finished?! Diagnose me, people. What do I do?

  2. I’m sorry you are feeling so behind and overwhelmed. Try to make your list for each day more manageable and be realistic with what you can actually cross off for that day.If you could break your list down and actually finish the list for each day you will get everything done in a few days and maybe even get ahead.
    Good luck with it.

I’ve been noticing the same thing when it comes to getting my work and school work down. Sometimes it just takes a weekend of R&R and mapping out a realistic breakdown of what you can accomplish during the week. I’ve been using my planner like a crazy person to stay on top of things, but lately, the best cure has been a deep breath and a glass of wine! Don’t stress, because that’s when you’ll start to lose focus. xx

  5. I totally feel you, girl. I always have a zillion things on my to do list too, with things constantly being added. its easy to feel overwhelmed and just not want to do ANYTHING!!! but the thing that helps me most is coffee (or Kombucha!) and just concentrating on doing one thing at a time. breaking your long, overwhelming list down into smaller lists organized by the type of work helps too. I’m not a blogger so I don’t have the same things on my lists that you do but I do average around 70 working hours a week, and just taking one thing (or one category of things) helps me stay focused on the task at hand rather than just thinking about the big picture. and when I get really frustrated or stuck, I switch to another item or category on my list. 🙂 good luck!
