Shopping for my mom is my favorite way to shop! They spend their entire life shopping for others and so on holidays I go a little crazy spoiling my mom! I try to plan ahead because I know my dad isn’t the greatest at gifts. Mind you, he is the best husband ever, but he thinks argyle is a color….
My grandfather used to say, “The only man that is good at buying gifts without help, is a man who cheats.” And while that is not 100% true for everyone I always crack up when I think about it! How many times does your dad/brother/guy friend call you freaking out about what to get a girl?!
A day before Mother’s Day/ her birthday/ Christmas he always says, “So what did we get mom? I was thinking about getting her a turkey fryer…” I then have to ask how that is helpful considering my mother lives off oatmeal and vegetables.

So I always try to go above and get her a little something extra so that I can say, “It’s okay, Dad. I got it.”
For Mother’s Day I try and stick with sentimental, but for Christmas I try to get her really nice pieces she wouldn’t buy herself. Whether it is a snake embossed planner or a nice travel bag [this one is a steal!] I think little pieces that are all her own are thoughtful, because mom’s always take the leftovers!
