Tomboy

I think people have a really big misconception that when you are a style blogger your closet is blessed by the Lord, Jesus, himself and getting dressed is a joy each day.
Joke is on us.
While, I am so grateful that I’ve worked with amazing companies and have some pieces that are going with me in my grave, my wardrobe is challenging to say the least.
I’ve got sequin skirts and faux fur for days. What am I supposed to wear running to Target and lunch?
Basics are always hard, but one of my favorite tricks is to add a little tomboy touch. Anytime I see a girl with pink lipgloss and a boyish outfit I love her style. There is something so simple about the juxtaposition of wearing a flannel and cutoffs and not caring, but also putting time in other areas like jewelry.
I’ve been investing in plaids and flannels like crazy. Here are my favorites. They may be more expensive than your average top from Forever 21, but these last for years and the fit is incredibly flattering. I’ve been pairing mine with a  sweater around the waist and classic sneakers

This look is my favorite because it says, “I don’t really care but if I ran into my ex I would be completely fine with it.” We all need those outfits.
Have you tried any tomboy touches when you play dress up?!

  1. Haha, I know what ya mean! I’ve been buying up a lot of flannels for the season too…so comfy and perfect for casual days!

  2. I too have a lot of random “special” pieces but not enough everyday clothes. This outfit is perfection though! I’m all about those Nike’s :]
