Living in Texas during the winter can be a real pain in the butt. One day it’s sunny and 75, the next day it’s so cold you’re wishing you owned a ski jacket. I’ve always been very uptight about never wearing anything that doesn’t abide by the typical seasonal fashion rules, but every now and then when it’s the middle of December and feels more like the middle of May, I decide to forgo the rules and wear sandals and florals.
If you’re feeling the sunshine and wishing it was Spring, there’s no need to bundle up in a thick old sweater just because it’s winter. Break the rules. Wear white after Labor Day and bright florals in Fall. After all, no one establishes unique style by following the rules laid out for them.
Like Katherine Hepburn said, “If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.” I choose to have fun, don’t you?
