Survey

Happy Friday! This semester picking an intern was torture. I literally couldn’t do it. Everyone was so great!

The entire purpose of me having an intern is to help expose girls to the blogging/pr industry, and so I thought it would be better to have multiple girls help with little projects! They could get a taste of what I do, ask me anything and have a fun project to share in their portfolio’s.

One of the girls working with me is Malley. She and I went to sister high schools growing up, and although she was younger than me she was always in my group of friends! One of her projects at Texas Tech is researching blogging and of course my PR mindset lives off research. We thought it would be fun to allow her to do a little study and see what girls love about blogging, and this would help me as I’m about to celebrate Chronicles of Frivolity’s first birthday! [um…WHAT?!]

By taking this survey and following me on twitter, you will be entered to win the cutest little clutch from one of my favorite boutiques, Beehive! You can see it on my Instagram.

Malley is a Texas Tech girl, so I thought this black and gold studded clutch [that also has a chain strap!] would be perfect for game days!

Meet my girl, Malley, and her favorite things!

I’m Malley, a senior advertising and business student at Texas Tech University. When I’m not at class, work, or Kappa chapter meetings, I’m immersing myself in the fashion and PR world. I read all the September magazine issues and purchase every wedding magazine I see; even though, I do not plan to get married anytime soon. My dream job would be a wedding and events planner pretty much because I love peonies love.
Of course being in college allows wearing top knots and oversized tees to class; however, during meetings, work and weekend fun, I have staples I really love to stick to. Every lady should have these five classic-chic pieces in her wardrobe to go to that will withstand those moments she can’t seem to find anything to wear in her over-packed closet.
A monogram and Dogeared necklace. I pretty much always have these two necklaces on. Both look cute on their own or layered with other statement pieces. The monogram necklace craze is worth the frivolous purchase. I love Dogeared brand necklaces because they are dainty and inexpensive. Mine is a simple, yet elegant pearl with significant meaning behind it. It goes perfectly with everything I wear.
Peplum tops. I. Love. Peplum. Tops. I have eight. I could wear one every day, mixing and matching it with almost anything. They are somehow appropriate for almost every occasion. A classy peplum that fits you well can be paired with a floral cardigan for an important meeting or a skirt and wedges for a night out. Some of mine are sleeveless, and I will still pair it with a moto leather jacket come winter. Pair it with a statement necklace mentioned above and you’re set.
Black skinny jeans. Enough said. Is there a piece of clothing more versatile than jeans? Once you have found your denim soul mate, buy another pair in black and you will be thankful. The black skinny is a great transitional piece that works well for those long days that turn into evening happy hours. Because they are black, they can be dressed up or down and go with anything you already have in your closet. (Another perk is that black pants are instantly slimming and who doesn’t want that?)
Cross-body bag. When a tote is too big and a clutch is too small, a cross-body bag is the perfect size. If you’re a girl on the go, they are perfect for “throwing and going”. Find one that suits your style but can also be paired with most of your wardrobe. “It’s better to have fewer things of quality than too much expendable junk.” Rachel Zoe had purses on her mind when she spoke this quote. I’ll tell you right now, I love the inexpensive purses I find, but I really love spending money on a purse I know won’t fall apart on me. Rebecca Minkoff carries great cross-body bags to die for. Purchase a couple in neutral colors, and then buy some in fun colors, like red and teal.
Fur Vest. This wardrobe staple is essential during cold weather months and is perfect to throw on during those mornings where we hit the snooze button one time too many. There is a reason this item is included on nearly every must-have fashion list you see. It’s simple, stylish, and matches with anything and everything. This is one item I can throw on sans-makeup with a top knot bun and still feel chic.
