The past month has been so long. Paul works in public accounting, as an auditor, for a big 4 firm. I am pretty sure that is the worst combination you could possibly get for an accountant when it comes to work hours. He loves what he does and I’m so thankful he has such an amazing job and is so brilliant. Buttttt if you’ll allow me to whine for a minute I totally will.

I don’t see him.  Like he goes in at 8 a.m., gets off work at 1:30 a.m. and calls me on his way back to his apartment “don’t see him”. He works 86 hour work weeks from now until April.Thankfully his summers are normal hours 8-6 [or in accounting 7 or 8] and then in the fall he travels a lot for audits. I always joke that I’m going to spend my twenties sitting on my couch waiting to hear him call to let me know he got off work.

Thankfully, I have a ton of great girlfriends who are always willing to take me on dates. πŸ˜‰  Last week I was just lounging around in this blanket of a sweater. [Size down, y’all. This is a small I have on and could fit an army. BUT I love it! It’s like you never left your bed.] I got a little call from him that he could take me to dinner for an hour. I threw on these little booties from Everly Grace Boutique, a bright lip and statement earrings. It was the fastest I’d ever gotten ready and I was pretty excited that I pulled together a comfy date night look! So if you were needing something quick, or cozy this sweater and lip combo is your new boyfriend. I also threw in the clutch as an, “Oh, you don’t see, Paul. Go ahead and date yourself and get it” gift. We all need those, right?!

Happy Tuesday! Thanks for letting me vent! πŸ˜‰

It sucks you don’t get to see each other much… better than long distance though! We are 6 hours apart and it’s so hard!

I always tell my friends I’m a married-single gal. My husband is an engineer.. so he’s in Amsterdam, gets home and off he goes to Singapore. Love the suede boots with fringe (rather with they were closed toe though).

That stinks that you don’t get to see him much! My BFF’s parents own an accounting firm and I’m a finance major so I have heard all the horror stories of how busy accountants constantly are (especially during tax season!) It’s totally worth it once the season is over and y’all can celebrate – loving the hot pink lip!

I promised not to purchase any more sweaters for the season, but this one is a must have. It looks extremely cozy and that is one thing I like when I purchase an oversize one. It look great especially with those shoes.

  10. Awww Katey! I know exactly how you feel! I’m always never sure when my hubby is going to get off work, he’s gone overnight several nights a week, and everything is so unpredictable! It’s so hard. Sometimes I feel like I live by myself! But so good to have good girlfriends and your blog to keep you busy and distracted. But still would always rather be with your man! Praying for you. xoxoox

  12. ahh girlfriend i don’t know how you do it. i think it might even be harder being the non-accountant! i also work in public accounting at one of the big four firms and last year my husband did too so it was fine because none of us was ever home but this year he got a regular people job (#jealous) and gets home at 5 but i don’t get home until 10 at the earliest and he was just complaining last night about being so bored and just wanting to talk because he never sees me!

anyways, though our hours aren’t nearly as bad as your man’s (bless you, kansas, that’s the one thing i like about you) it still stinks freaking bad! so here i am being passive aggressive and reading blogs as my little break from the madness πŸ˜‰
