I think one of the most beautiful things about relationships is that you really get to take on the other person’s hobbies that you wouldn’t push yourself to do, otherwise. Let me preface this by saying, I’m a really content person. If you told me, “Katey, you have to eat a Mi Cocina Rico Salad and watch Netflix reruns every night of your life.” I’d just give you a hug and say, “That is so great!”
[Content with my wardrobe and content in life are two totally different things. I just would have to wear a different outfit each night. ;)]
It wasn’t until I met Paul that I really gave a thought to traveling. I have traveled a lot with my family, but until Paul really forced me out of my comfort zone I never craved it. We started our relationship with me flying to Chicago to see him for work and each month we make little lists of places we can’t wait to visit one day. I think I get at least 5 e-mails a day from him with the subject lines entitled: “I think this would be a good place to visit when we are 34.”
Seriously. He’s got our itineraries planned until Jesus comes.
With traveling comes travel clothes and I’ve made so many mistakes. I’ve looked like the hot mess express is boarding American Airlines and I’ve also looked like I was going to grab tea at Neiman Marcus with my grandmother. I think for winter they key is to feel polished, but have pieces that you can convert your little 4×4 space to comfort with. These ASOS blanket scarves do just that. They are so oversized which allows them to be worn every which way. I wear some as a cape or poncho and wear others like featured. Once you take them off they legitimately convert into the coziest blanket. Trust me when I say I grab one when I go on a Netflix binge.
So if you travel a lot for work or have some places planned coming up, grab one of these babies! They are so warm, but also allow your wrinkled outfit to be covered once you get off the plane or out of the car.
Do you have any other travel wardrobe necessities?!
