Hi friend! How was your weekend?!

My best friend Taylor and I went down to Austin to see one of our other best friends, Casey. It was such a fun little 48 hours because we all lived together in college for three years. One year in the sorority house and two years in a little townhouse.

And we started our weekend going 98 MPH on the struggle bus. I had a sinus infection [what’s new] and when I have them they are horrible. Fever, body aches, cough for two weeks, the whole deal. And Taylor started the weekend with a busted lip.

Before we left, Taylor told me she was going to run to the dermatologist for a quick scan. [Always check for moles!] Her doctor found a little spot on her lip that she thinks is 100% benign but wanted to remove to test. So Taylor came to my house after her appointment and looked like Kylie Jenner times two.

The entire weekend she made me do her makeup so that we could cover it and if you follow me on snapchat, y’all were cracking me up! We got so many messages from y’all saying, “#coverthebustedlip2016.” Taylor loved it! haha.

I’m a huge fan of winter white miniskirts! I got this one when I was in college [it has had one too many stains and always made it back from the dry cleaners in perfect condition!] but recently found this one that is nearly identical in style and texture! By pairing it with a silk navy blouse like I did here, or even a chunky turtleneck like this  I think you’re channeling Serena van der Woodsen had she lived in Texas with warmer winters! 😉

Texture is the key player in working white into your winter wardrobe, and this skirt has a thick texture that doesn’t resemble a summer BBQ in the slightest.

If you live somewhere not as mild, you can easily pair this with tights! Think a dusty grey or even a fun plum color.

I got a Small in this top, but as you can see it is a little larger! If you want a more fitted feel, I’d go one size down. This top is a 2-for-1 special, where it’s the perfect work top that also compliments a skirt for dancing on Saturday.

Totally, completely in love with this outfit. It looks like a dress, but I love that it’s a skirt and top so that you can wear it other ways too! Great outfit Katey.

In love with the structure of the skirt! Too bad I live in New York where it is currently freezing, otherwise I’d totally rock it!

Your snaps this weekend were so much fun, the “OOTD” was the absolute best! Right when hastagging got really big, I always read it in my mind as “pound sign…” until I actually heard someone call it a hashtag in conversation. Who does that?! #dontpushpoundforahashtag

You should look into sinus surgery. I used to have chronic sinus infections and was constantly taking antibiotics, up to 2 week cycles. I think I’ve had 2 minor sinus infections (lasting only a couple days) in 5 years and haven’t been on antibiotics since. Life changing!

    Also, cute outfit. Lol.

      Hi girl!

Yes, I have actually had a few sinus surgeries! 🙁 I can’t have anymore for awhile, I just have terrible sinuses that don’t drain. But I definitely need to have another!
