As graduation is almost here, many of you will be starting your careers shortly! Whether you accepted an offer in creative or corporate, chances are you’re probably trying to stock your wardrobe with work-appropriate pieces. In order to help you add a piece or two, I wanted to share some affordable work wear options on the blog today. Most of these items are under $100 and classify as business casual. However, if you dress up more for work I love these pants or if you are in a casual work environment this top is perfect! Three is a great option to take you from work to play, because it comes in an array of shades and can be tucked in a skirt then tied up with jeans as featured for happy hour after. Lastly, if you aren’t a huge fan of the colors featured, don’t worry! Many of these items [like this blazer] come in other shades so just click the link and browse which option fits your fancy.

I’d love to get to know you all better, what do you do for work?!

  1. Love the picks, especially the yellow skirt and the dark orange blazer! They would totally add a pop of happiness to a dull workplace!

This post couldn’t have come at a better time! I’ve been post-grad and working for just about 3 years now (where does the time go?!) but my closet has felt so outdated because I never want to spend too much money on work attire. Thank you for putting this post together 🙂

  7. Hi Katey! I work full time at a design studio in the office and as a freelance photographer but I write and run my blog One Pot Slop (which is honestly the real full time job! ha!) So basically I work in all creative fields and I love fun work wear attire. For me, I prefer dresses to skirts and love ones that hit just above the knee and cover my shoulders (like cap sleeves or thicker straps). Fun tops with jeans are also a favorite for work. Maybe you can email me a few of your picks for work dresses and tops?! Love COF, keep it up girl 😉

  8. I so needed this! I’m built bigger and taller so finding dress pants is such a struggle. I recently started a full time job and dressing everyday has been a bit of an issue coming out of college where I’m used to teeshirts and nike shorts everyday This is so helpful thanks for sharing!

  12. Before baby, I was an Assistant Director for a non-profit (a youth alcohol/drug prevention program). As of now, I have exactly one month of maternity leave left (just know saying that makes me sob like a baby and makes my heart ache like it never has before). When I return to work, I’ll be returning as the Director, which is a huge blessing, but I didn’t realize how staying home with my baby for 12 weeks was going to change me. So I’m dreaming some new dreams and praying a little differently these days, and we’ll see what God’s plans are for the future! <3
