Depending upon where you live, it can be a tad bit difficult to follow the motto “buy now, wear later.

In Texas, we have a few weeks to wear sweaters and an even shorter amount of time to wear spring looks. It gets hot, it gets humid, and no one wants to wear a spring look when it is too warm. But in case you want something a little fancier or just more conservative, this seersucker skirt is a must! The fabric is light so you can easily wear it in June and the tiers give it a fun shape without overpowering your body. I paired it with THE tee your closet needs. I always struggle to find a crewneck tee that is fitted, not too see-through and thick enough to justify the cost. This one is $29 and absolutely perfect in my book. I’m going to purchase it in black as well. It’s definitely the type of top you can wear with skirts but you can also tuck it in some denim shorts with a fun belt for the summer months. Be sure to size down in the top to get this fit.

I love this look because you can make it work for church, you can throw on flat sandals and make it work for brunch or you could top with a jean jacket if you live somewhere cooler. It’s also a great travel outfit if you are out sightseeing and want to be in something versatile enough to go to a nicer restaurant.

You’re probably thinking, “Okay, we get it. You like the skirt.

Moving on!

What are your weekend plans?!

  • I’ll be at Keeks in Plano on Saturday from 1-3! Come stop by and browse their pre-loved designer handbags. I’ve purchased my both Goyard Tote and LV duffle from Keeks and have always been extremely pleased with the condition my bags are in!
  • I want to make my own almond butter, have you ever done that?! I always struggle to find almond butter without a ton of added sugar or one with a consistency I love. My friend posted she made some and all she did was toast almonds in a 400-degree oven until golden brown {about 8-10 minutes}. Then she let them cool for 15 minutes and placed them in a food processor. She blended on high for a few minutes and then once smooth she added in sea salt and honey. Sounds divine! I LIVE on almond and peanut butter! Maybe I can make these after?!
  • Maxi is obsessed with peas. She can eat 3 servings and then some, so I may make these as an easy snack to have on hand!
  • I plan to casually catch up on Real Housewives on New York. I know, I know! But I LOVE the RH franchise. It’s so outrageous it makes me feel blissfully boring and I crave that.
  • I’m a Kristin fan. I think we all loved her sassy ways back in the day and it’s been fun to watch her evolve into a mom and own a brand. I plan on ordering her new cookbook this weekend. And did you see she is going to have a show this summer?! Yes, please!
  • I’ll also still be shopping the Shopbop sale. It ends soon! Catch my post here. So much has sold out, but I love these, these for my work conference and this belt reminds me of Gucci.
A Few More Shopbop Faves

Happiest weekend!

  1. I’ve never made my own nut butter before, but I’m really tempted to try. It’s not a long or difficult process, the only gripe is that store-bought nut butters (even the ones with no preservatives or add-ins) are cheaper than the actual nuts… 🙁

Hey Katey! I’m sure you’ve tried it but Trader Joe’s has great almond butter that isn’t crazy expensive. I think making it yourself will be really fun and it sounds pretty easy! Have s great weekend!

Hey Katey! I love this look! What size shirt are you wearing? You say to size down for the fit and I’m not sure what to get (usually a S). We seem to be about the same size so I’m wondering if you are wearing an XS? Thanks! 🙂
