Swimwear Picks

one, bottoms | two | three, bottoms | four | five | six | seven | eight | nine | ten | eleven | twelve {have these and love!} | thirteen

I don’t think I’m picky on too many things {okay, maybe I’m lying to myself} but I do know I’m extremely picky on swimwear. I mean, I could make a list of 50+ requirements I look for in a suit. It’s like a list girls make for potential boyfriends, but worse because it’s just a bikini!

So when it hits 90 degrees in Texas {now} I start to dread stocking up on swimsuits. And y’all, I really have to start from scratch! Two summers ago I was pregnant and last summer I was nursing, my body has completely changed and so have my wants in a swimsuit. I think my sister took advantage of my baby bump and stole all my Type Swimwear from years prior. Or I gave them to her when I was throwing up from morning sickness in Rosemary Beach two summers ago. I can’t really remember what happened, but I’m going to assume she preyed on a pregnant woman! So here I am in need of bikinis and one pieces. I popped in a few stores last week, I’ve made multiple online orders and above is what we have left! A few of these are already in my closet and the rest are in my cart. When looking for suits I want something that is a little sassy but also realistic. I need to be able to comfortably get in and out of the pool holding my daughter.

Below are a few other poolside must-haves:

  1. Many of you have asked what sunscreen I use and lately, I’m very into Supergoop. It doesn’t break my face out and it feels light all over my body. I have this for face, this to set my makeup and this to touch up throughout the day.
  2. Don’t forget a hat! My MRS. hat is always my favorite, but if you want a more subtle option, I love this.
  3. This is my favorite water bottle to keep by the pool. It keeps your water ice cold but doesn’t sweat and get all over the contents of your bag.
  4. You want to keep this at home to spray right after sun! It will help tend to your skin if any parts got too many rays during the day.
  5. A girl needs her oversized sunglasses for the pool, and I’m ALL about these $20 ones with the tortoise and black.

Poolside Reads

This is what is on my list to read for summer! What are you wanting to read?! I’m sure y’all have already read most of these because I’m late to the party. I got these recs from my girlfriends, but I’d love to hear what is on your last so I can add a few!

  1. The Marriage Lie
  2. Forever Interrupted
  3. After I do
  4. A Stranger in the House

Have you started shopping for swimwear?! Where are your favorite spots to grab bikinis from?

One Pieces always look so chic to me but with my curves and being a little taller 5’6” I think they look stretched out on me, not flattering. But I’m loving the white off shoulder that I may have to try! Also, thank you for the book ideas!! Forever Interrupted and After I do sound like great summer reads

Hi Katey! Thank you for this. It is so hard to find swimsuits, and I am currently on the hunt, so I will definitely check this out.

As for books, Reese Witherspoon’s book club books have never disappointed me! I finished “the last Mrs. Parrish” last, and it was amazing! It would be a great poolside read. I am currently reading Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine (Reese is involved in making it into a movie), and so far it’s really cute. And Little Fires Everywhere is next for me. I actually already started it but I left the book in my mom’s carry on bag and she is reading it now LOL

Yep I am doing the same this summer with swimsuits and I have number 1 in my cart but in the terracotta color and the 11 already bought in a different color.

I’ve been hesitant about trying a one piece but I am loving the white one you shared! Also, I listened to the audiobook of The Marriage Lie and it was really good! I never wanted to stop listening.

I just finished Sorority by Genevieve Sly Crane. It’s a little darker than I thought it might be (I was thinking Legally Blonde!) but it’s great read. Just started The Family Next Door. Holds promise. That Mrs. hat is everything! Adorable.

You will love all of those books! You should add One True Loves to your list, another Taylor Jenkins Reid book. That’s my all time favorite by her.
