At a rehearsal dinner a few years ago, the Maid of Honor said something in her speech that I still think about daily!
She said something along the lines of, “The most beautiful thing in life is to want to be bored with the one you love.”
I always crave being bored with my husband! To just sit on the couch, coffee in hand, with nothing to do. It doesn’t happen often, but it is my favorite thing in life. To be bored and be beyond content, that’s great love in my book.
Today my husband turns 30 and while I keep so much of his life private on my blog, today, I have to gush on him.
Paul is happiest when his people are happy. To say he has been patient with me our entire relationship would be an understatement. I’m the sassy one that gets easily stressed and I worry about EVERYTHING. He is the problem solver and always the source of calm in our household. He never gets frustrated with me- ever! He’s always thinking of ways to make other peoples’ lives easier and living out those ideas.
He’s gracious, kind, incredibly driven {I have no clue how he requires zero “me time”- he either wants to work or serve his girls} and such a gentleman. He’s the favorite when anyone knows the two of us and that’s perfectly fine by me. I feel like the luckiest getting to be his favorite and being the one he chooses to enjoy the rare, but wonderful, bored moments in life with.
Today, you’re 30, babes. We used to celebrate birthdays in your early twenties at Taco Diner enjoying margaritas at 3:00 pm. But something tells me celebrating birthdays in your thirties with high chairs and coloring books will be even better.

Happiest of birthdays to your Paul! I hope you and sweet Maxi spoil him today. My husband’s 33rd is tomorrow and he hates being celebrated. He and Paul sound a lot alike. He wants to let us shine while he works to make the light around us as bright as we want it.

I love that you dedicated a post to your husband! I know he’s a huge reason you keep doing what you do, and he has always supported you.
I feel the same way. I always count down the time for my husband to get home because I miss being with him and can’t wait to just sit on the couch and talk about our days and play with our little 9 month old.
