Plant Shop with Maxi

Today’s post is one for the images and I have to say, it may be one of my favorite shoots yet! I’ve shared before that my dad comes from a family of photographers and he did that as a second job when I was little. I remember bridal fairs and sitting in the back of weddings being silent as I held my breath watching the bride walk down the aisle. I also remember him saying to just let toddlers play and you’ll get the best photos of them that way. We stopped by my girlfriend’s plant shop, let Maxi explore and the result is photos I’ll cherish forever.

If you are a DFW girl, have you been to Grow Plant Shop yet?! My childhood best friend, Emily, and her husband, Bobby just opened it off Magnolia in Fort Worth. They renovated an airstream and converted it into their shop and it is truly the most precious thing. It has me obsessed with airstreams and wanting to go here.

Grow has been one of our favorite little summer activities lately. We head over to Craftwork Coffee {my favorite FW coffee shop!}, look at plants at Grow, and then enjoy lunch at Brewed. I actually bought a fiddle leaf from Grow {see here} and I’ve managed to keep it alive- which I’m quite proud of.

I wanted to share these sweet photos from our recent Grow trip in our matching Lilly looks. I hope this gives you a little inspiration to get out and grab a plant or two this weekend! Do you have a green thumb or do you stick to faux?! I had to install some new hedging recently too for a friend who wanted the best privacy from a hedge, so we planted some beech hedging as it offers near year-round privacy.

P.S. Are any of you Nashville gals?! Paul and I are headed there in a few weeks for a trip to celebrate his birthday {part of his birthday gift!} and wanted to see if you had any necessary shops we must pop in. 😉 I haven’t been to Nashville since I was in college, so I know there must be some new, cute spots. My girlfriend, Diana, planned out our meals and I cannot wait! I was making reservations yesterday and I’m convinced I stuffed my face all day just looking at the menus.

Such A cute photo shoot! I’m so excited you are coming to Nashville. You may not want to share where all you are eating, but just curious what awesome restaurants were recommended to you? There are literally so many great places to eat here. Some of my favorite little boutiques to shop are Vinnie Louise, in 12th South which is a super cute area and if you have time to make it to old downtown Franklin it is adorable with tons of little shops you can walk to. Hillsboro Village is also cute too, and has some cute little boutiques. I hope you love Nashville as much as I do! So exciting 🙂

  5. These are some of my favorite photos of yours, too! Love how they just capture something you two love to do together anyways, whether there is a camera around or not. Plus, the matching outfits are just so sweet. I have a feeling these will be photos you will cherish forever!

Next time we are in FW I definitely want to stop in – I love the unique spin on a traditional nursery! I would love to one day have a garden like my mom’s but until then I’ve just got my little basil plant on the windowsill in our apartment and ordered a faux fiddle leaf fig tree because I don’t trust myself with that haha!
