Happy last day of November, friends! My holiday parties start next week {can’t really fathom how fast this year went by!} so I wanted to share my take on dressing for holiday parties. This is what I wore to my holiday blogger brunch two weeks ago and I felt so festive in it! I did an all-black look with a statement skirt adorned with sequins. This look screamed, “GNO” to me, so today I wanted to talk about different ways you could celebrate the holidays with your girlfriends, even if you don’t have a big holiday party planned!

What To Wear

The nice thing about holiday parties is you can use it as an excuse to wear sequins at 4 pm {I wore this skirt at noon! ha!} or go with a classic solid-color look. Whether you want to wear an old LBD in your closet or opt for something in a rich, red hue- embellished or classic is totally appropriate either way. The best part? You get to add on more festive accessories. For this look, I decided to throw my hair up, so my earrings wouldn’t be competing with the Texas volume I usually have going on. How major are these Kendra Scott Fabia Earrings? If earrings could speak, they’d be saying, “You better be wearing me for NYE.” With the acrylic nods on them, from far away, it just looks as if you have diamonds dangling mid-air around you. What could be more festive than that? You have probably seen these earrings all over Instagram, as they are part of her collection this season and they are undoubtedly the earring of the season. I decided to add on more layers because I felt the acrylic nods gave me permission, too. By tossing on the Oscar Necklace and the Amaya Cuff, I felt it made this look holiday ready. My top and my skirt both fit TTS and while you may think you won’t wear a sequin skirt again, you know you’ll have moments you’re grateful for it later {vacations, Bachelorette Parties, etc.}. The top I have on is really versatile and can be worn tucked into boyfriend jeans with the Oscar Necklace for a feminine and edgy mix! Then, just throw on a pair of dressy black booties that you can easily walk in. Holiday parties mean you could definitely be standing chatting for longer than you anticipate.

What To Do

If you don’t have anything set in stone just yet, here are three of my favorite ideas for last-minute plans with your girls.

  • Nutcracker: I’m going to the Nutcracker in 2 weeks with my girlfriends and while it does seem a little cliché to list it here- it’s always a magical evening. Whether you are 4 or 40, who doesn’t want to get dressed up, grab an early dinner and see such a beautiful show?! We got a box with all of our friends and I can’t wait!
  • Gift Dinner: This is something I do each Christmas with my girlfriends from elementary and high school. We go to a dressy dinner {I can wear this!} and we all bring one gift, between $25 and $50- we depend on the price each year. Then as we are seated, we pass our gifts to the right or left and the person next to us gets our gift. It’s a nice way to do gifts and celebrations with a friend group, without spending a fortune. Christmas gets can get quite expensive! This is where the Kendra Scott Votive Candles come into play. They are $25 and smell divine. It’s the perfect gift for a friend while staying within budget.
  • Cleanout & Cocktails: This is another thing I’ve done with my friend group, and I think everyone should try it! Before the holidays, I really try to take inventory of what I have and do a good purge before the new year. Host a “Cleanout & Cocktails” party with your girlfriends- where you all dress up, munch on cheese boards and champagne, and everyone brings 5 items they want to “Recycle.” You could bring an old pair of jeans you haven’t worn, a clutch that gets no use, a lotion you used once or twice, etc. You get the idea! Then everyone brings their items and you kind of set up shop. Everyone will trade, and it is almost like gifts for everyone, but instead, you get to rotate your closet and recycle. The cocktails and dress-up part is what makes it even more fun. It feels like a party- not necessarily a cleanout. 😉

I hope you love this holiday party look I paired with some fabulous Kendra Scott jewelry. Do you have any holiday party celebrations with girlfriends?!
