A dress post Friday. A dress post today. It’s no secret, I’m a dress girl, through and through- have my mother to thank for that. I associate Knee Length Dresses with Sundays mornings at church and it always reminds me of the family time centered around that. We had a little Saturday evening ritual we did to get ready for the week. She would wash my hair, blow it out, put rollers in, and paint my nails for church the next day. It’s probably one of my most fond memories from childhood! We’d watch a movie {my pick} and she let me eat far too many Oreo Pudding cups while we “got ready for church” together. It wasn’t even that we “had” to get fancy for church, but I was in dance each night of the week, so Saturday night was our one night where we had that quiet family time at home.

Something about a summer sundress or maxi dress brings back memories of those moments on the weekend with my mama and I can’t help but feel an automatic sense of comfort in them. After all, isn’t that why we are drawn to certain clothing?! There are subconscious memories there. Always.

Sappy Lifetime quotes aside, here are two recent dressings that I’ve been wearing. I purchased the snake dress while in Scottsdale and the maxi dress is one I have been wearing on repeat. You feel like quite a princess in it, but it’s totally comfortable and I play on the floor with Maxi in it and have zero issues. Both run TTS and I’m wearing an xs for size reference. They are daytime looks, which always makes me feel a little better about spending more on them because I’ll get quite a bit of wear out of the two. But if you wanted to wear either for the evening, just add in my Schutz Enida sandal.

Which one is your favorite?!

  3. I loved wearing dresses to church too and still do! When I started getting older, my parents told me one day that I don’t “have” to wear dresses to church, but that I totally could if I wanted to, and I wanted to!! I snatched up that snake print dress a few weeks ago as soon as I saw the email come in from Anthropologie! I loved it so much, and I have been wearing it non stop! I LOVE it!

The snakeskin one is so cute and so you!! 🙂 I also love dresses and I love dressing up for church! I rarely wear jeans to church (only if the weather is terrible).
