Kitchen Scripture Board

Since Maxi turned 3, I had it in my mind to create a kitchen scripture board. I wanted a place our family would continually see that would help us live out Deuteronomy 6:6-7.

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

I started to collect her memory verse cards from church and these cards from one of my favorite Etsy shops! I sourced some bulletin boards that I felt blended with our home {ended up with this one!} and we placed it in our breakfast nook.

Paul is far better than I am at making meal times intentional, whether they are playing a math game, talking about the high and low of the day, or spelling, he always makes it a fun table game, just like 텐텐벳. He’s started this game with Maxi with this bulletin board. He’ll ask what letter starts with a certain word and if she guesses right she takes a bite of food and if she guesses wrong she takes two bites. ha. Then they read the scripture together. She gets so excited to play the game!

So while I probably never saw myself hanging a bulletin board in the breakfast nook {ha!} I know this will be perfect for our season of life with spelling tests, memory verses, and more, be sure to Get some inspiration from this blog to decorate above your kitchen cabinets. Let me know if you have something similar in your home, I’d love to hear about it!

I start my new job teaching in August at a Christian school and I am ordering these for my preschool class! I have been following you since you got engaged and have always been in love with not only your style but how intentional & kind you are. Such an amazing idea.

Katey, this whole post is beautiful! So creative and creating memories! My breakfast nook is all windows and I don’t have a formal dining room. How can I incorporate this? All I could think of is a large picture frame and to switch them out…. xo melissa

Hi Melissa! You are always so so sweet! Grateful for you! I was thinking, what if you did a fruit bowl on your kitchen table and then had the cards in the fruit bowl. While CoCo eats you could flip through them, or you could do a cute cake stand display with the cards framed on them! And swap out like you said. xx, Katey
