Once Halloween is over, do you go straight into holiday mode decorating up until the early hours?! Or do you wait until Thanksgiving has its pumpkin and fall foliage glory? I enjoy getting Christmas decor up before Thanksgiving, but it doesn’t mean I don’t equally adore Thanksgiving. To me, it is the opposite. I like to be DONE by December one with decor, gifts, and holiday errands. It helps me slow down the last month of the year as I take some time off from Christmas to New Year’s. I also equate Thanksgiving decor with the tree UP and a festive table set for all to enjoy. I popped in a few stores yesterday and got some tablescape ideas to recreate for less. I’m going to need to whip out the spray paint and all to get this Thanksgiving table styled, which I’ll share more on later. Pier 1 had chargers 20% off in-store, so I did go ahead and grab those, and then I’m going to swing by my mom’s house this week to see what dinnerware I can borrow from her. She’s got quite the gorgeous collection.

All of that chit chat to say, I am so happy to be hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas for our family this year. It’s always my mom’s honor to host, but with her hand surgery this year she passed the reins to me, and I’m hoping to make it just 1/10th as magical as she typically does.

But as you decorate, don’t forget to take inventory of your gift closet. I preach the gift closet situation {it doesn’t have to be a closet!} all the time on COF. This could be a cabinet, a basket, an old linen closet. I store my cards, wrapping paper, and gifts on hand to have year-round. This time of year, I make the most use of the gift closet. I grab a hostess gift here, a holiday gift I forgot about there, and I take an inventory before I make my shopping list. Chances are, I have a few things perfect for a person or two.

To help you get started, or take inventory yourself, today I am sharing 7 gifts that are perfect to have in your gift closet throughout the year, as well as the most LOVED products on the LTK app this year. These products are the most loved items by every single user, so you know they are good and SAFE gifts to try for a friend or family member.

Bergdorf Goodman Cookbook: Got a friend that is Gossip Girl obsessed and loves a ladies’ lunch? Get her the Bergdorf Goodman Cookbook. It makes a gorgeous statement in a kitchen and is filled with Blair Waldorf-approved meals to make at home.

Jenn Thatcher Art Blocks: For your friend that loves Pinterest and home decor, get her a Jenn Thatcher Art Block. This is also a wonderful option for a boyfriend or fiance’s mother. Jenn’s art blocks can be used to style shelves, buffet tables, and nightstands. See mine here.

TULA Rose Glow Eye Balm: Have a friend that is a new mom? She’ll want the TULA Rose Glow Eye Balm. I reviewed the original here, and the rose glow is just the holiday version. It has a bit more highlight to it as well as rosehip oil as an ingredient. My TULA code for 20% off is KATEY at checkout.

Champagne Candle: If you have a friend that appreciates a repurposed gift as well as a good bottle of bubbles, she’ll want this candle. This bottle of Veuve has been repurposed into a candle and it smells so yummy! It has a strawberry and cream scent that isn’t too overpowering at all!

Agate Coasters: I have had these Anthropologie agate coasters for at least 6 years and it is one of my most-asked about home items. I think they make the best gifts for the girl you just aren’t sure what to gift. She can use the for her drinks on her desk or to house a candle.

Kendra Scott Earrings: Your fashion-forward friend will appreciate these open Kendra Scott earrings. I think it’s a fun take on a similar hoop style and they are incredibly lightweight!

Makeup Bag: For your makeup-obsessed girlfriend, treat her to a Hollis makeup bag. They are wipable and don’t get dirty, so bonus points if she is a neat freak. You can see my review of them here and my code for 10% off is KATEY10 at checkout.

Now on to the LTK’s most loved. You can always follow me in the LTK app here where I source all my items from Instagram. They compiled what people have loved the most so far into 2019, and I’m spilling those details to you all.

one. Snake Booties– These booties are a great option for your daughter, sister, or yourself! Because these can be worn fall to spring, I think that made them the most popular bootie choice this year.

two. Coin Necklace– If you want to gift jewelry, but you aren’t sure if you should go the delicate necklace or statement earring route, this is a safe bet. This coin necklace was the most-loved necklace of the year because it is perfect alone or layered with another second-skin necklace.

three. Bomber Jacket– We can’t forget the guys. This was the most-loved item for men on the app this year. This bomber jacket at Nordstrom is something he probably wouldn’t buy himself but would get a ton of compliments on.

four. Golden Goose Sneakers– If you are on the fence if you want to dive into the Golden Goose pond, let this speak volumes. People LOVE thee shoes because they go with anything. They also are shockingly comfortable. When you first try these on, they are pretty firm. They don’t feel like a running or athletic sneaker. However, I have never had my feet hurt wearing these and I can’t say that for many shoes. I have worn them to walk 30k steps in a day in NYC and my feet felt great after. If you would wear these daily, they are a great gift to ask for for the holidays.

five. Eye Balm– The eye balm wins again for the most-loved beauty product of the year! I linked the rose glow version above, but if you want this for the cooling sensation most, you’ll want the original version. I think the cooling sensation is so nice for allergy or puffy eyes. My code KATEY works on this, as well.

six. Swift Run Sneaker– The Swift Running Sneaker is the most-loved athletic shoe and I have to agree! I got these during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and they make so many other athletic sneakers seem hard and uncomfortable. These are my go-to for walks or my dance class.

seven. Revolve Top– Need a gift for your friend that loves concerts and events? Check out this top from Revolve. I am going to grab it for my sister because she always wears tops like this to TCU games or dinner with her friends.

eight. Tote– Any friend will love this tote for her office! This tote comes in an array of colors to suit their personal taste and preference. Plus, the price is pretty great when you compare it to other work-friendly totes.

And that’s a wrap, friends! Whether you take this month to decorate with more pumpkins or candy canes and twinkle lights, we can all agree getting ahead on the gift list makes things a little less hectic. Take inventory of that gift closet, stock it with an item or two, ad get ready for the best time of the year.

I’m going to buy the Tula eye balm right now, as i’ve never tried it before but it sounds amazing! Quick question, do you use this in place of a normal eye cream that helps with fine lines/wrinkles, or do you use this in addition to? Thanks!

Hi girl! I use an eye cream at night and some mornings and this acts more like a primer after sunscreen to get rid of dark circles and brighten before makeup! But it has great ingredients, so you could use it in place if you wanted to simplify your routine. xx, Katey

The swift running sneaker…true to size? The site says Adidas run large, and my current Nikes run small so I have no idea what size to buy. How do they compare to other shoes you buy, size-wise?
