Do You Use Rose in Your Skincare?

The Details

With Valentine’s Day in roughly two weeks, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to be a little cheesy and talk about rose as an ingredient in your skincare routine. My first question is, are any of your products infused with rose?

According to dermatology experts, rose has anti-inflammatory properties which makes it great for all skin types. From sensitive to acne-prone, rose can work as a fast-acting calm for all things skin. It’s a huge reason why I’ve loved rose-infused oils for so long and never turn down a sheet mask with it, either!

One product that has made its way into my skincare cabinet is the new Lancôme Absolue line. I’m sharing this with y’all today because if you don’t use face cream and get intimidated by the texture, this one is for you! You may only want to reach for gel moisturizers, but this cream changes that. This soft cream is made with grande rose extracts and works to smooth, plump, brighten, and add firmness to the skin.

Let’s chat a few reasons why I have really enjoyed this cream the past 6 weeks and am partnering with Nordstrom today to share:

  • If you are in your twenties or thirties, this cream still works to give you the results you want. Many indulgent creams may only promise firmness and softening fine lines- and quite frankly, break me out. This cream helps with prevention but also brightens and smooths textures to help you look more rejuvenated and awake.
  • The texture of this cream is something people keep raving about! Many people avoid creams because they don’t want to add more “oil” to acne-prone skin. The brightening soft cream starts as a thick cream and then once you moisturize into your skin it turns into a serum-like lotion. After a minute, it almost just feels like this thin layer on your skin working to plump! Because of this texture transformation, you can use this in the morning, but I use this in my evening routine.
  • With it being in my evening routine, I love that I can add oils after! I heard all about the batana oil benefits. Since this transforms into what feels like a thin serum, I can add my oils after and use my rose quartz roller like we talked about on the blog last week. Now, last night, I actually just used the soft cream and then my roller- so that works great, as well. However, if you love to layer on the products, I think you’d enjoy this cream because it gives your skin an even canvas to add on to.
  • Speaking of rose-infused products, not all rose is created equal. This cream is made for all skin types and is safe for sensitive skin. This hasn’t irritated my eczema at all! However, you may think, “Eh? Rose? Won’t it smell awful?!” Not at all! This is the faintest scent, so you can truly tell the grande rose extract is used as a smoothing and brightening property, and not some gimmicky scent to be a “cute product.”

If you want to try this cream {I’ve actually purchased another jar, I have liked it so much!} you can shop it here. However, if you want to try the Absolue line, you can get their discovery set, which is the same price as one jar of the soft cream. With the set, you get the soft cream, a serum, an eye cream, and lip balm all with the same grande rose ingredients! If you have more mature skin that is really dry, you can try this same cream but in the Rich Cream version!

While you try this out at Nordstrom, if you’re curious on any other Lancôme products I love, here’s what I recommend testing:

  • This perfume is one I have repurchased probably 4 or 5 times! My girlfriend, Cydnee, got me hooked on it and I remember spritzing this on before I was married and then wearing it when I had Maxi, too.
  • If you’ve watched my makeup tutorial, you know their white eyeliner is what I use on my waterline! It lasts longer than anything I’ve ever tried on the waterline.
  • This is my mom’s favorite eye makeup remover and she will order 2 or 3 at a time online. When I’m out, I always steal a bottle. Does anyone else “shop” at their mom’s house? I saw the funniest meme on Facebook once where a girl was carrying out paper towels, food, hair spray and it said something like, “When I’m out of one thing and take everything except my mom’s best China.
  • This mascara primer is another product I’ve repurchased half a dozen times! Mascara can be really drying to your lashes {especially if you use waterproof} and this is a vitamin-infused primer, so not only does it give you the false lash effect, but it works to condition your lashes. Speaking of mascara, I love this one, too! I’m currently using a sample from when I ordered my cream! #LoveAGoodSample

On my radar next? I don’t currently love the face scrub I’m using {the bottle is really difficult to get product out!} so this is on my “to-try” list next. Have you tried it?!

Let me know if you try the Lancôme Absolue line or if you use any rose-infused skincare products!

I have used their Teint Idole Ultra 24H Long Wear Fdtn. for about 5 years now. It is a matte finish and feels like a 2nd skin, not to mention it REALLY is 24 hour coverage. Lancome has great products!
