In partnership with Colleen Rothschild. All products purchased by me and opinions are my own.

In the spirit of seasonal skincare switches, I’ve been talking a lot about favorite products lately. From body scrubs that don’t scratch your skin to cuticle oils, most of these reviews have been on Insta Stories. So today, I thought it was high time to make one of my most requested skincare posts yet and answer the question, “What are your favorite Collen Rothschild products?

When I receive this question via e-mail or direct message I think, “No!! Don’t do this to me! I like everything- probably too much. Hence, the name Chronicles OF Frivolity.

That’s like asking Carrie Bradshaw to select one shoe the rest of her life and only wear it. But hey- I’m up for the challenge as always, so let’s chat about my top 5 favorite products.

I’ve blogged Colleen Rothschild products for a few years after a friend got me hooked on her goods while on a work trip together. Colleen makes some of the best treatment products on the market. Her retinol is one of the only retinol products that doesn’t give me red scaly skin. Her masks work so well without causing inflammation. You get the idea. Now, I want to be upfront and say I have not tried all her products. Not even close. I’m behind, people! But I will say, I’ve never tried a product of her’s that I haven’t loved OR repurchased MULTIPLE TIMES. In fact, one of my photographers Angie jokes that each time she shoots my Colleen Rothschild skincare products they are so beat up.

She’s like, “Well, I know you really love this stuff because you’ve got one drop left and it looks like it’s been handled by baggage claim at an airport 10 times over.

So ignore the fact my products may not look pretty, but they are well loved.

Essentially, these are the top 5 products that I buy over and over again and I typically purchase during her sales. She does fabulous sales throughout the year, where you can get products for 25% off. She’s having one of those sales today, so I thought it was perfect timing to review my favorites.

Right now, she is having a Friends & Family Sale where you get 25% off sitewide with code FAMILY25 at checkout. This sale ends on 10/21!

Colleen Rothschild Hand Cream

Restorative Hand Cream

I was never a religious hand cream user prior to Colleen Rothschild. Did I have dry hands? You bet. I just hadn’t necessarily found a hand cream that made me *want* to use it over and over again. I hated greasy hands in the middle of the day, because then how are you supposed to touch anything the next 15 minutes? Or I’d find something light that didn’t do a darn thing to my dry hands. So here I was with hand creams that I did enjoy, but I really only used them once a day or so. I follow Makeup by Tiffany D on Youtube and she was raving about this hand cream. So around my birthday this year, I asked for this hand cream as a gift.

It’s rich and feels totally luxurious, but within a minute I can get back to typing on my laptop without leaving grease everywhere. I also apply this each night before bed once I put my cuticle oil on. Since March, I have gone through two tubes of this cream and also purchased one tube as a gift for a girlfriend. She absolutely loves it! I put it in a little coffee mug and it made a perfect birthday gift.

Y’all know, I love to do a DIY manicure and having a good hand cream is key to getting it to look like you left a salon.

Colleen Rothschild Retinol

Retinol Supreme Eye Serum & Retinol Supreme Night Oil

I’ve done an entire blog post on these two wrinkle-fighting superhero products, which you can read here. But let’s do the SparkNotes version, shall we?

  1. Retinol Supreme Eye Serum: I have SUPER sensitive skin around my eyes. It’s where my eczema flares up. And while I’ve really gotten my eczema under control the past year thanks to probiotics, the eye area is the one part it will flare up with a bad product. Many eye creams cause it to come back, and so I have to be ultra careful. And crow’s feet don’t bother me, hello I have them here! *But* the area around your eye is so thin and sensitive, you really do have to take care of it or you’ll feel like you look a lot more tired as you get older. This eye serum is a wonderful eye cream that also fights skin damage and aging with retinol. However, Colleen makes her retinol products nourishing as well, which is something that is a rarity on the market. This product has Saloprine which increase moisture levels by 6000% in 28 days. The more moisture, the more youthful your skin looks and it also prevents any eczema flare ups I could potentially have. I use this 3 nights a week.
  2. Retinol Supreme Night Oil: I preach this is my favorite retinol product Colleen makes because you don’t have to dry your entire face out for a result. Whether we are fighting acne, dark marks or fine lines, we typically have to deal with peeling skin. Not with this product! It is the first retinol product I used after breastfeeding so I could ease in, however, it still has the same amount of retinol that her treatment complex product has. You want to apply retinol before your moisturizer, but to combine it with an oil moisturizer is absolutely brilliant in my book. Cuts your routine time down and makes your skin look plump and dewy. I use this 3x a week, and don’t forget to use this on your hands, too! The nights I use this on my face, I put a drop in my hand cream. Hands are the first to show sun damage and aging, so give them some retinol TLC while you are at it.

Colleen Rothschild Cleansing Balm

Radiant Cleansing Balm

Caroline Hirons is a skincare angel that I love to learn from. She says one of the top tricks to great skin is double cleansing with a cleansing balm. This cleansing balm is the first cleanser I use to take my makeup off and give my skin a massage. Blood flow is key for healing and so massaging your skin for a few minutes before you do your skincare routine is going to help promote your skin to heal in whatever capacity you need it to. I mean think of all the massaging they do in a facial! On dry skin, I apply a drop of this product and massage all over my eyes, lashes, cheeks, and forehead. I massage in circular motions like a facial and do this for a few minutes. I rinse off with a warm, soft muslin cloth. Then, I’m ready to do my normal cleansing routine!

AND THE SMELL! The smell of this cleanser is enough to make me buy it. It smells like Christmas- in the best way.

Collen Rothschild Face Mask

Clarifying Detox Mask

This is another product that has been in blog posts over the years, and you all know I love charcoal beauty products! This charcoal-packed detox mask is loved by nearly every single beauty blogger I know. From fighting blackheads to zapping zits, this mask fights congested pores. I apply this once a week and then also use it as a treatment. When I went backstage to fashion week a few years back, I saw a makeup artist applying this to a model’s skin an hour before she walked. The mask contains Vitamin C, so you heal and detoxify with charcoal at the same time.

Let’s recap the top 5!

  1. Restorative Hand Cream– to make your manicures look fresh!
  2. Retinol Supreme Eye Serum– keep those eyes looking bright and awake.
  3. Retinol Supreme Night Oil– combat wrinkles and plump up your skin.
  4. Radiant Cleansing Balm– because double cleansing will change your skincare life.
  5. Clarifying Detox Mask– for that “911-I’ve got a huge zit” moment.

Two Products to Try:

You may be thinking, “Okay, Katey. These are all old products I’ve purchased before. What about something new?

I have two recommendations for that, too!

  1. Matcha Tea Treatment Toner: This is her newest product I have been trying out over the past month. This is a Kombucha Black Tea toner with Japanese Green Tea to detoxify, minimize the look of pores, and absorb excess oil. It has an antiseptic power to help fight bacteria, which makes it fabulous for blemishes. I actually like this to put on blemishes for about 15 minutes. I pour it on a cotton pad and let it rest on the blemish to remove the bacteria. I actually did this for my sister when she had some breakout and she said it helped a lot the next day. If you are more oily, I bet you’d like this! For me, I think it would be really refreshing in a spray bottle as a mid-day touch up. I think that’s how I’ll use it day-to-day!
  2. Candles: I LOVE CR candles and they are some of my favorite gifts to give and receive. In 15 minutes your entire home smells like a posh penthouse overlooking Central Park. I love the scent Haight-Ashbury or Hygge for a master bedroom. I love Róisín for a bathroom and I love Le Balm {the scent of the cleansing balm!} for a family room or kitchen!

Just bumps. I just bought the Vitamin C serum from CR. Is there anything else you recommend for my sensitive skin?? I’m also 50. Thank you!!

Hi Helena! Aw thank you so much! I would try her retinol oil. It’s a great retinol to help with your skin’s cellular turnover, but extremely gentle! If that isn’t something you would be interested in, her hydrating mask is absolutely incredible! xx, Katey
