Hello from South Carolina! We traveled here yesterday evening so we could be in town for my cousin’s wedding this weekend. Maxi is the flower girl and if you’ve been catching my Insta Stories we have been “practicing” and it’s about the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. Who knows what she will do- she’s pretty shy! But at home she likes to count EACH petal {she can really only count to 6/7, sometimes 10} so it’s more like counting to 7 eighty times. Then once each petal is on the floor she RUNS down the aisle to me. ha!

But let’s talk about this shoot!

Y’all, I’m a wimp! I’m over here saying Maxi is shy and doesn’t like strangers, well I HATE heights. I had sweaty palms during this shoot! You see me sitting and laughing, but I had to sit to feel closer to the ground. And while this isn’t *that* high up {at all!!}, I just really hate stairs that don’t have the backing. What is that called again?! We are headed to 30A this May and I about drove my husband bonkers because I spend DAYS trying to find a beach house to rent that didn’t have stairs like this. Why is that so common at the beach?! I’m guessing because they need spiral staircases for all the stories. But I’m not about that…moving on. 😉

Each year I like to do a post on a cotton dress I’ll be wearing on repeat. Whether I dress it up with wedges, throw on a jean jacket and sneakers, or just statement earrings and sandals- it is a fun challenge to find a versatile, affordable piece! Meet, this year’s dress. And guess what?! It’s a Walmart find! Today I collaborated with them to do a little high/low look and I love how it turned out.

Let’s talk the dress, it’s a light sage green but with some nice variation in the fabric, so it isn’t just a plain cotton dress. There is a little section that ruches allowing the top half to kind of “fold over” a bit, so it almost looks like a top tucked into the skirt. But the nice part of the ruching is that it’s generous in sizing and if you were pregnant, I think this would also work with you as the ruching can come out a bit! It comes in 3 other shades, so if heather grey is more your thing, you can try that as well. This is a dress I will 100% live in this year from lunch to errands to play dates. I love that the fit isn’t skin-tight as I have featured dresses like that for spring in the past because I think this allows a little more versatility in where I wear this piece.

I’m not sure if you knew this, but Walmart has a Premium Brands Shop here. That’s where I bought these wedges {part of their latest spring collection} and my ladylike bag. If you love to dress high-low as I do, this makes putting together your look a breeze. That way you don’t have to do different retailers and add extras shipping costs, etc. Because of the variation in print of the dress, it almost looks like added texture- which makes the dress look far more expensive than $16 in my opinion. So I wanted to play into that with my spring purse. The white, blush and grey stripes feel a little trendy, but still very soft- so it doesn’t compete with the dress I’m wearing.

Here’s a look at how I’ve been wearing my bag and wedges I got from the Lord & Taylor Premium Brands Shop in my day-to-day with Maxi!

*She looks like she is plotting her escape from me!* ha!

The bag is buttery soft and has two compartments inside, so I can throw in diapers and wipes for Maxi if need be. It has a magnetic clip that closes s the flap. And it can be worn easily on the shoulder or convert to a crossbody as seen in these photos. So while I love my $16 find, I personally think the bag is the star of the shoot. 😉 I’m a little biased with the light pink stripes!

Now one helpful tip would be to not let the items sit in your cart too long! They can sell out pretty fast, so I’ll link a few of my favorite new arrivals from this shop, as well.

Let me know if you recreate this look or what you try from the Premium Brands Shop!

I’m off to my cousin’s bridal brunch today- chat with y’all soon. Have a wonderful weekend. 🙂
