Try-On Session

I don’t believe I’ve done a post like this before, but I wanted to try it! Last Friday, Maxi took the longest nap so I was able to try on everything I had ordered while in bed with the flu. ha! Most of my spring wardrobe last year was nursing friendly, so this year I wanted to take advantage of lace tops and pieces that may have not worked for my lifestyle in 2017. Here’s what arrived on my doorstep and my thoughts on what fit/needed to be returned.

Top: Bloomingdales | Tank: Nordstrom [size up] | Jeans: 7 For All Mankind [c/o] | Shoes: PradaLove These! | Bag: Henri Bendel | Earrings: Baublebar [c/o]

I started with this look because I’m most excited about this top for spring! I paired it with wide-legged cropped denim and some mules. This top runs TTS [wearing a S] and has a sweet little bow in the back at the neck, but you must wear a tank under. I linked my favorite tanks above, but go up a size in those. I’m always trying white, lace tops for spring and summer, but the structure of this one paired with fun denim is amazing. I tried on all these looks that day and this one ended up being my favorite! This clutch is something new for spring as well and it fits a ton.

Sweater: Free People [wearing XS] | Denim: Shopbop | Shoes: Nordstrom | Belt: Gucci, Similar

This is a great transition look for the end of February and beginning of March. This sweater is an olive shade, which happens to be one of my favorite colors for clothing. I did some suede booties with it for colder weather, however this sweater is cropped and could easily be worn with shorts in April. I wanted to note that Free People runs large and this sweater is no exception. I sized down to an XS, but it’s still a bit oversized and I’ll wear it off the shoulder. If you’re very petite, I would go with the XXS. Their sizing can be a little tricky to get used to since everything is supposed to have more of a bohemian fit.

Sweater: J.Crew | Jeans: Shopbop | Slides: Sam Edelman [went up half a size] Bag: LV, Similar

I went with this J.Crew sweater for a comfy and casual look on the weekends. You could easily style it with leggings and sneakers, or with white denim and fun mules like these. In the sweater I’m wearing a size S and I found it to be true to size. Mules I went up half a size, but I always go up half a size in mules as I find that to be the most comfortable fit! This bag is the LV Monogram Pochette Métis and unfortunately, LV stopped making them in the monogram print. I’m not sure if they will start again or if they were reworking some issues. I’ve had no issues at all with the bag and it is one of my favorite, but I haven’t found a great similar option just yet!

Slides: Sam Edelman | Top: Tuckernuck [size: S] | Jacket: Tuckernuck [size: xs] | Belt: Gucci, Similar | Bag: LV, Similar

This is another option for wearing pink mules! Now I’ll be honest, a striped tee and army jacket aren’t usually up my alley. However, this tee is a more fitted material and I liked the juxtaposition of it against the cotton jacket. Because of this material, I think it’s a top I’ll wear with shorts all summer long. It’s perfect for layering! I went down a size in the jacket as it’s an oversized fit, I’m 5’3″ and found that to be just how I like it. This is an outfit I’d wear to catch a movie, but LOL you don’t go to the movies as a mom of a one year old.

Skirt: Revolve [true to my jean size] | Sweater: Cece [Size S, but fitted] [c/o] | Boots: Old, Similar | Bag: LV, Similar

I love this look for a date night during this transitional period coming up in March! This suede skirt is from Revolve and the sweater is from Nordstrom. The sweater is a bit more fitted, so if I were to wear it with jeans I’d definitely tuck it in with a belt. If you’re wanting something with a more casual fit, I’d go up a size. But my closet lacks thin sweaters you can tuck in skirts, so I love the fit of this. These boots were a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale find back from when I was pregnant! haha. So definitely older, but I found some similar ones I linked.

Bodysuit: Shopbop | Jeans: 7 For All Mankind [c/o] | Shoes: Aquazzura, Similar | Bag: Gucci, Similar | Earrings: Tuckernuck [sold out], Similar

In theory, I loved this bodysuit. I think I’ll have to return because it doesn’t work with my body currently. Honestly, it’s actually perfect for nursing! There is a clasp so you can easily nurse and it is great for more curves. But I did pair it with those wide-legged jeans and a pair of splurge-worthy heels! I have an exciting work announcement soon for the spring, so I treated myself to these shoes for the special occasion. I can’t wait! However, these are a fabulous dupe.

Dress: Bloomingdales [TTS] | Earrings: Tuckernuck [sold out], Similar | Bag: YSL, Similar

A bit of self tanner would do me some good, but I had to share this palm print dress! I wore a palm print romper on my honeymoon and then my sister borrowed it and then I think she gave it to a friend. Not too sure where it ended up, but I saw this and really wanted to recreate that look! This dress has a fun ruffle going down from the shoulder, so if you have a vacation coming up [or a honeymoon!] I highly recommend it. [I apologize, I have technical difficulties with Bloomingdales linking the clothing in the images up there, but the dress is linked under “shop the look”]

Dress: Nordstrom [TTS] | Jacket: J.Crew, Similar | Bag: Gucci, Similar | Earrings: Baublebar [c/o]

This is a great dress to snatch up for spring as you can wear it so many different ways. You could throw a chambray button-up over it or keep it simple with hoop earrings and sandals. This also has ruching in the middle, so you can wear it if you are pregnant, too!

Romper: Buddy Love [c/o] | Earrings: Baublebar [old], Similar | Bracelets: Julie Vos

I’ve worn Buddy Love on the blog for years, and so this romper feels so familiar to me! I always whip out their prints as the weather warms up. This is a very pretty toffee and blush print, that you can dress up with wedges for date night. However, it’s extremely comfortable and feels like you’re wearing pajamas so you can style it over a bikini at the pool or with flip flops running errands.

That’s my little try-on session, I hope you enjoyed this type of post. If you haven’t already, be sure to download the new Like to Know it App and follow me there. You’ll be able to shop my looks there before they go live to Instagram and it’s nice because everything is linked in one specific spot, instead of you having to scroll through numerous posts.

Omg no! Bahaha! I’d rather give birth than have the flu! I mean I ordered clothes at the tail end of my flu and I tried everything on a week and a half later! Haha. Xo
