Christmas Pancake Board

The Details

In partnership with Walmart. All purchases and opinions are my own!

Before I log off for some wonderful family time over the holidays, I wanted to leave you with a sweet treat to enjoy on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. I  absolutely adore Christmas Eve. We bake cookies. We call loved ones to wish them a Merry Christmas. We make a cake for Jesus. We read The Christmas Story. It’s a magical day truly centered on the joy of togetherness. But let me tell you, once I’m done baking I want to keep things EASY. I usually pre-make a lasagna the day before Christmas Eve, so I can pop it in the oven to enjoy.

If you fall in the same boat and want something simple to enjoy for breakfast on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, may I introduce you to my pancake board?! Like the charcuterie board, your family can fend for themselves. Husband starving? He can make his plate. Kiddos wanting to just watch The Polar Express and grab a bite later? They can do that. Picky eaters uniting? They don’t have to “eat around” a breakfast casserole.

I love the pancake board because if you like to prep early, as I do with lasagna, you can make your pancakes a day in advance and keep them in the fridge- then pop them in the microwave. Bake your bacon at 350 on a baking sheet for 12-15 minutes and no mess in your kitchen. It’s such a simple way to serve breakfast to your loved ones while letting them have fun with toppings.

I did Walmart delivery for EVERYTHING! Walmart delivery is my love language. Maxi had dance on Monday, so I placed the order while I sat in my car. When she was out of dance 45 minutes later, they called me to know it had been delivered. I got home and groceries were on my porch. You can do delivery or pickup to make life easier, because who wants to handle grocery shopping a day or two before Christmas?!

Here is what I ordered:

Crush candy canes, add holiday sprinkles, or festive marshmallows so your little ones can enjoy a very “Buddy the elf” kind of breakfast if they wish. No rules on Christmas, right?!

Maxi tested the board out for you all on Tuesday and she is quite the fan! Paul even came home for lunch to make his plate and they both agreed this is what we need on Christmas. Here’s how you can style it all. Top your pancakes with powdered sugar and you are good to go!

You can order everything you need for this here. They have quite the selection of pancake toppings and all at affordable prices so you can stay mindful of budgets during such an expensive time of year.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones. This is my last post of 2020 and I wish I could virtually hug you all. In a year that has been hard for all {to say the least} you all have shown up to this community with immeasurable love and support. Chronicles of Frivolity has never been more fitting in a year that we had to break up with normalcy. It is not lost on me that outfits and foundation swatches aren’t at the top of our minds this year. I spent the beginning of the year preoccupied with Harry’s health while pregnant on bed rest and then the other half worried about the future. But in 7 years of blogging, I truly found out the peace in frivolity thanks to you all. In the weeks I couldn’t stop watching the news, I knew I could come to the blog and interact with you, my friends. I could hear about the cute thing your baby did or the lip gloss you ordered from Walmart that you loved. I could take my mind off reality for 5 seconds and just enjoy the art of friendship. While it may seem founded on frivolous nonsense, it’s just like all friendship and conversation. We have our ice breakers of daily deals and pancake boards, but the heart of it is so much more. The heart of our friendship is wanting to create normalcy for our families, for ourselves, for our loved ones. Because when life seems heavy, you don’t need me to add to that burden. Sometimes you just need a girlfriend to tell you how fabulous a pair of jeans will look on you, and what you should grab during your next grocery store run. We all have to wear clothes and we all have to eat, so why not enjoy the little things with a friend? You all are that friend to me and I hope to continue to be that friend to you in 2021. Chronicles of Frivolity is a small business that employs 3 women and helps support my family, and we could not have continued without YOU. From the bottom of my heart {and with tears in my eyes as I type this} THANK YOU for believing in this. Thank you for finding the peace in frivolity with me. It is an honor to write this blog for you.
