Happy Thursday! Today we have another home decor post, which you all know are my absolute favorites to share. Full disclosure, I had absolutely NO IDEA what to title this post because it’s not like this is her “big-girl room” but this is her nursery in our new home. And she is a toddler, so let’s just go with that! πŸ˜‰ I’ve been waiting to share her room here for a bit, but drapes just got installed last week so it is finally finished! In her last nursery, I loved nesting and just keeping things very soft and delicate for a baby. I, of course, kept her furniture the same but wanted to have fun with some textiles in order to help it represent her fun and sassy little personality.

I hired Maddie Hughes as our interior decorator for this home and she is helping me with finishing touches like rugs and drapery- as you all know I am clueless when it comes to that! She chose these lucite rods and the drapes and I’m in love! I love that the pattern can really grow with her.

My favorite part of this room is the wallpaper! This is the Fern Blush Wallpaper by Clairebella. I was actually originally e-mailing Clairebella asking how much I needed to install wallpaper in my laundry room. {I eventually want to do this.} I was giving her photos of my home asking what she thought was best, and she showed me this wallpaper she was about to launch and I knew I wanted to grab that for Maxi’s room! Because we all know wallpaper can be quite pricey to install [we had to remove the texture from walls, etc.] we just did the main wall when you walk in her room. This way, as she gets older her bed can be on that wall and it will be a beautiful accent there as well. I told you all that when this was installed, her room really felt like her room! I’d been missing her first nursery, I’m sure it has something to do with living in 3 different spaces all before she turned 1 and the emotions that naturally come with that. I was missing the windows in her old room, the layout, the afternoons spent rocking a newborn. We got this installed the weekend I was at the Reward Style conference and when I came home and saw it I truly just teared up and was like, “This is her room now! It’s her room!” I think that’s why I love decorating so much and am always moving pillows and accents around. There’s this magical moment when you get a picture frame in the right place or wallpaper on a wall and you think, “I’m home.” It provides this sense of warmth to your space, which is what I feel the wallpaper and drapes did. Clairebella is giving COF readers a discount with code: COF20 and it will be valid through the month of May!

I hope you all enjoyed this space as much as I do now! Maxi will NOT let us rock her to sleep anymore, she goes over to her bed and says, “Nigh-Nigh!” which makes me sad. I truly miss the first nursery so much thanks to all the cuddles that we had! But there are plenty of memories to be made in this room as her personality comes out more and more each day. Yesterday we had a million things to do from doctor’s appointments to dry cleaning, so we were out of the house all day. She would wave and say, “Hi!” to everyone she saw. And of course her voice is so soft, most people don’t hear her. We were at dinner last night and she was waving so much at one person and they didn’t see, and then her face looked so sad that I actually teared up. I looked at Paul and I was like, “I don’t know why I’m tearing up, but her face looks so bummed right now it’s hurting my heart!” haha.

Thank you so much for reading!

The drapes are beautiful! The drapes and wallpaper really elevate the room! That’s what I love about good interior decorators they present options you’d probably never naturally gravitate to but then you end up loving them. I enjoyed this post, thank you!
