Spring to Summer Lookbook

Happy Wednesday, friends! I’m excited to bring you a new style of post today: a lookbook! I’ve been wanting to share a post that would give you multiple ideas for the season where you could find what to wear and when to wear it. When I shoot for the blog, I’m always thinking, “A girl could wear this here, here or here.” but I know we all have stood in our closet thinking we have no options for where we are going! I hope that this post helps you step outside your comfort zone and gives you a few trendy takes on the spring and summer seasons.

Headed to a nice steakhouse? Celebrating your anniversary or husband’s birthday? Every girl needs one good jumpsuit in her closet. There are times that you just don’t want to wear a LBD and I can assure you a black jumpsuit gets you even more compliments. It’s unexpected and feels a little bit Kourtney Kardashian, which I think we can all enjoy here or there! I wore this jumpsuit to the Reward Style Conference speaker dinner and felt perfectly in line with the dress code as many girls wore cocktail dresses. This one is by BCBG, but I also love this, this or this.

I think so often we associate a blazer with work, but the structure of it is perfect for a girls’ night out! Grab printed shorts, a silky tank, and a bright blazer for the next dinner with your BFF. These shorts are by Endless Rose and no longer sold, but I love this yellow version for summer. The blazer is an old J.Crew find, but this one is stunning as well and this is extremely similar. The tank is one from Nordstrom and I love it! The v-neck isn’t too low, which is always key for me.

Romper | Bag {Last Season}, Similar | Shoes | Earrings

If you are thinking of dinner during your vacation, you are most likely thinking of a romper. I wore this crochet one to the first night of the Reward Style party and y’all loved it on Instagram. This is a pricier one, but I’m a sucker for Alice and Olivia. Her pieces fit my body type well and there is no guessing game on sizing- which I know can be tricky with online shopping. I pulled some more affordable options below so you can recreate the style with something bright and punchy.

Romper {wearing xs} | Sandals | Bag | Sunglasses | Earrings

I wish I could express to you just how comfortable this look is! The romper feels like pajamas, the shoes have a great little cushion and the bag can fit all the diapers and wipes you need. This is a great look for running around with your kids. I know some people think rompers are a little inconvenient, but this romper honestly looks like a dress! When I’ve worn this everyone says, “Where is your dress from?” so personally I’ve already given this look extra points for looking dressier than it is. There is also a little tie at the waist which cinches you and creates the illusion of a waist, which I always love!

Pajama tops are all the rage and I’m thrilled about them! They are extremely light which is much appreciated in the summer. I tucked mine into these shorts I got during the Shopbop sale by Amanda Uprichard. I want to buy another pair! These shoes are by Schutz and I always recommend taking a tall pair of sandals when shopping. That helps if you need to buy a dress and see how it hits you while wearing heels. These sandals are the only ones I would ever dream of wearing while shopping because they break in perfectly and don’t feel painful at all thanks to the chunky heel. However, you could totally wear this look with flats and just bring the sandals in a tote if you are headed to buy a dress. 🙂 If you are going to spend a fun morning with your mom or sister brunching and shopping, this is the look I’d recommend.

If a jumpsuit would be a little much for your next date, try a wrap top! I’ve been so keen on wrap tops lately, see this one and this one! DVF is known for the wrap dress. It’s ultra-flattering on every woman and now she has wrap tops. These are a bit cropped so just wear high-waisted jeans with them and you are golden.

I hope you enjoyed this lookbook! Which one is your fave?!

I am SO drawn to a black flowy leg jumpsuit but I am scared to pull the trigger. I have a longer torso and I am always afraid they will be too short through the stride. I am going to have to try some on though because they really do look so elegant!
