The One Dress You’ll Always Wear

Michael Stars Racerback Midi Dress | Bralette | Shoes | Sunglasses | Bracelets | Bag

On Tuesday, I had the honor of speaking at the Chloe Digital conference for blogging and I was so happy to see many familiar faces. I got to see sweet gal, Mary-Katherine, a reader and blogger {check her site here!} and she is a mama-to-be. I’m obsessed with her! We were talking about bodycon dresses and how you love wearing them while pregnant. However, I’m not one to always reach for one while not pregnant since it either feels too fitted or too dressy. But as always, there are a few exceptions to the rule. The Michael Stars Racerback Midi Dress is one major exception.

I have this dress in two shades and bought them early in my pregnancy, wore them until the end, and still wear them now. You can see a photo above of me loving one when I was pregnant! These have fabulous stretch on the sides so I wear a size S then and now. The only thing I would note is that you need a racerback bra or bralette with this- this is the one I wear.

You can also wear these pretty much year round, especially in the south! I pair mine with a jean jacket in the fall and a kimono in the spring. On days I run around with Maxi, I pair my dress with sandals, but you can wear something with a heel for a date night. For a dress under $90 does it really get more versatile?!

I’m taking this week a little easy. I had an ear infection before Taylor’s bachelorette party, took medicine, never got better, ignored it- what I know so many of us do and shouldn’t! I ended up taking an Uber from Chloe Digital to the doctor only to be told I now have a massive double ear infection. I don’t think I’ve ever had one this bad and I feel like a total wimp. But goodness! I feel like my ears will explode. I forced myself to sleep a ton yesterday so hoping I see a major difference today.

But funny story, while in the Uber I really did not feel well. I had the worst headache from the ear infection, etc. I got in the Uber and we made a little small talk. I told him that I didn’t feel too well from an ear infection and had been speaking. We were in a lot of traffic, so I just closed my eyes. I mean for maybe 10 seconds. I wasn’t falling asleep here. He then goes, “Ma’am! MA’AM! {he yelled it. lol} You really can’t close your eyes. Are you doing okay?

I said, “Oh, okay! I’m sorry. I just have a massive headache. I’m staying awake, I just was resting my eyes.

The headache got worse so then I rested my head on the window and just tried to look out.

He proceeded to say, “Ma’am! I really need you to stay alert here. Just sit up straight.

At this point, I kind of just wanted to laugh. I’m texting my friends like, “Are you not allowed to rest your head in an Uber?” I’m still so confused at what happened. I think he meant well but it was just so bizarre in the moment. haha.

So tell me, do you love a good fitted dress?! Try this one next and I bet you’ll fall in the “I can’t believe I actually love this” camp! 😉

Laughing out loud over your uber experience! That is too funny, I would have been getting so frustrated with him if I was you though haha but maybe he feared you had a concussion or something. Anyways, you look fabulous here gal and I’m convinced I need to buy a couple of these dresses!

I couldn’t agree more! I always reached for my fitted dresses during pregnancy (bought this one per your suggestion!) but am a little less likely post-pregnancy. Hope you’re feeling better!
