Try-On Haul + Maxi Met Santa

Happy Tuesday, friends! I wanted to share a little life update + try-on haul for this Try-On Tuesday thing I like to do on Insta Stories! I’m sure I sound like a broken record, but October through December has been an absolute blast with a toddler and I need December to last forever. We always get the prettiest weather in December- look at those leaves from Sunday! This weekend was filled with birthday parties, hot chocolate, and Christmas parties. I know most are partial to summer, but I can’t think of a better weekend than what we just had. The feeling of peace you enjoy on a weekend surrounded by family is one of the greatest joys in life, so add anything cheesy and Christmas-themed and I’m about as happy as one could be.

Next to holiday fun, here are 3 things I discovered and loved this weekend!

  1. The Perfect Red Nail Polish: Essie Gel Polish in “Rock The Runway” is fool-proof and makes your hands look great! Quite the #FakeAProfessionalManicurePolish if you know what I mean. It’s more of a punchy red and gives you the glossy look of a gel manicure. It also applies like a dream, I had no smudges or issues with getting it on my cuticles thanks to the brush.
  2. A Sermon on Anxiety: You know how you can hear a sermon and want to listen to it over and over and over because you feel they are speaking directly to you? This sermon my friend Amy Beth sent me rocked my world this weekend. She was telling me how wonderful it was, so I asked her to send me the link on Sunday night. I don’t want to give too much away, but if you have a spare 40 minutes this week try and listen!
  3. Seasonal Trader Joe’s Items: I found Mara’s Trader Joe’s Holiday list and hello, Danish Kringle?! I made a list and I’m going to TJ today- are there any other seasonal items I must include?! I’ve already polished off a batch of peppermint bark, so might as well get on to the next find. 😉

Maxi’s Dress

On Sunday we went to a Christmas brunch with friends and Maxi met Santa. She was totally fine with him last year, but this year?! Not so much! We made up for it with cookie decorating after. Except, when we got to the table where the kids were decorating cookies, she was a smart girl. She grabs a cookie and the candy toppings and just took a bite of both. Why take the time to put it together when you can just enjoy them faster?!

*Proof she liked him last year! Before the stranger danger life set in!*

My Sweater | Maxi’s Leggings | Maxi’s Vest

I shared this on Instagram, but I can’t decide what is funnier: her really not liking Santa or her realllllllly not wanting to take a picture with her mom?! Either way, I’m loving #MaxisHolidayFaces.

Cardigan

Okay, I PROMISE you I clean my mirror multiple times a week, but whenever you brighten a photo you can see the air. I’m convinced. ha. 😉

Today I’m doing a try-on haul on Insta Stories and am also going to be sharing those looks here for those that don’t have Instagram/can’t watch. I started the haul with some more casual looks, things that I generally wear Monday through Friday.

If you ever catch my Instagram Stories, I’m generally wearing THE uniform. Leggings or joggers. A pajama tee. A majorly cozy cardigan. This cardigan is now part of the crew, but what I love is that it works for both home and play. I’m wearing the S/M and love the periwinkle hue! It says silver online, but it’s more periwinkle. I threw it on over an all-black look, just tuck your tee in your jeans and you can run errands, chase your kids, and still look cute for a dinner date! It’s an easy item to incorporate into the pieces you already own in your wardrobe, which is why I love it!

Jacket

Another item you can seamlessly add to your daily look is this pearl denim jacket. Y’all LOVE pearl-embellished denim jackets, as I have shared one in the past and after it sold out I got questions weekly if there was a restock. It was quite the popular item. This one is actually less pricey than one I’ve shared in the past and it has a darker hue for the fall and winter. It’s a trendy take on a classic item, which is how you know you’ll get a lot of use on it. A trendy print on top of a trendy silhouette or fabric usually doesn’t last long. But you can’t go wrong with a denim jacket! I’m wearing the size small.

Chambray Blouse

I am a chambray blouse snob. There, I said it. I struggle to find ones that have a relaxed fit, but that give a flattering cut all at the same time! The raw hem on this shirt, the feminine shape, and the neckline make this pass the chambray blouse test. I.e, it is the only one I own because I’m so stinking picky about them! ha.

Blouse

This blouse makes all my glam, bohemian dreams come true! It’s definitely a year-round top as you can pair it with white denim in the spring and cut-off shorts in the summer. It’s a welcomed change from neutral sweaters that I get in a habit of wearing day-in and day-out. The other nice thing is that although it has more of a bohemian fit, it isn’t too oversized to where you can’t see your shape. Like the chambray blouse above, you can still see a more feminine shape to the top. I’m wearing a size S.

Faux Fur

To make a bohemian blouse work in the winter, just add a touch of faux fur and pink. 😉 You could pair the blouse and jacket with a nice pair of skinny black pants and heels and be ready for Christmas Eve Service or dinner if you go out with your family. This coat has a nice balance of working well with denim or with a dress.  I’m wearing this coat in a size S.

I hope you all are having a great start to your week! Which is your favorite look from the haul?
