Fall at Home

Fall…sweet, fall. We are entering the at-home season, or how I view the colder months. πŸ˜‰ Hot chocolate. Holiday movies. Warm, comforting meals that simmer all day. Staying in pajamas with no place to be! I wanted to share a few bits of fall around our home; I think we will finally dip into the 80s for GOOD as of tomorrow, so it will actually start to feel like fall here. Here are a few things I’m loving with the shift in seasons:

  1. Recipes– I bring out the crockpot as there is a shift in meal planning. My friend, Kellie, always sends me the best slow cooker recipes. She had me make these Thai-Inspired Beef Bowls two weeks ago, and they were incredible! I even put some of the meat on sandwiches for Maxi the next day. Maxi and I love chicken sausage, so this is on my menu list for next week.
  2. Projects– Being home more brings about an urge to cross projects off the to-do list. Maxi came in our room the other day and said, “Mommy, you haven’t needlepointed in a while.” I was like, “I know, I know!!” I think I need a shorter project, like an ornament, to kick-start my drive again. This morning, I cleaned out our dining room buffet {where I store family albums and table linens}. I’ll bring out my needlepoint in the coming weeks- next week, I head to Blackberry Farm, and I’m hoping to have plenty of time to stitch on the plane. And if you were to walk into our bedroom, you’d see baby albums all strewn about. I’m always tweaking baby albums, adding notes, vintage cards, and photos. And MAYBE next year I’ll get to actually organizing photos. MAYBE. πŸ˜‰ What projects are always on your list?
  3. Target House– Speaking of projects, I got the kids this Haunted House to color this weekend. I added it to a Target pick-up order and it is huge! My kids love Busy Banners as well, if you need a great coloring project to add. These make fun holiday basket additions or gifts to drop off to their preschool class.
  4. Fall TV– Fall shows are back! I had my mom and some friends over last Thursday to watch The Golden Bachelor, which I was thrilled about. I hadn’t watched the show in years because I felt like what was a PG show was going too far in a different direction than I preferred. But the one-hour premiere had us in tears. Here’s to *hoping* the Memes and the Gigis and the Nanas are all here for the “right” reasons.

How are you welcoming fall in your household?!

Hey Katey! Just had to tell you how precious your kids are in these! The matching pjs are the cutest! Also, I know you did a post about this awhile ago, but can you share how you make these photo albums? I want to do one of my bachelorette trip but I don’t know how I want to do it, so I’m looking to follow something. Happy Fall!! Allyson
