Remember when they sold bedazzlers to stick little rhinestones in your hair?! Maybe we never got over that trend, but it moved on to something else- pearl embellishments. From pearl-embellished denim jackets, {they always sell out so fast!} to pearl-embellished sandals, it’s a trend I can’t get enough of. Pearls are a classic accessory, but when you take them and embellish a shoe or jacket with them it gives an unexpected and edgy mix. I think that’s why this trend works so well, in an over-accessorized way, it’s balanced! You get to be trendy and play it safe all at the same time.

What’s the best way to dip your toes {no pun intended} into this trend? With the Leith Stunner Embellished Strappy Slide Sandal. You might have seen them all over Instagram last year, as did I. I loved them, but wasn’t sure if I needed that much pearl in my closet since I had just bought my pearl denim jacket. Well, THREE pearl denim jackets later {oh yes, I bought the one I’m wearing with my Christmas gift card because I have an issue with these!} I decided my pearl-embellished obsession isn’t going away. By the time I wanted to buy last year, they had long sold out, so imagine my thrill when I saw these sandals were back this season! I first bought this sandal in the pink color above and they sold out about a week after I posted the above photo to Instagram. I wore them with some maxi dresses and was in love. I decided I also needed the blush shade for classic dresses. And the black is even so tempting as it has a Chanel tone to it! These run true to size, I’m wearing my usual size 7. They are $69 and a great way to see if pearls need to make their way from your jewelry box to your closet.

Let me know if you try this trend! We are having quite a low key weekend which will be nice after birthday parties galore the past week. I’m just cleaning tonight and tomorrow and then Sunday we will be celebrating Paul’s brother’s birthday after church. Do you have any exciting plans?!

Hi Hanna! Thank you so much for your feedback! I would love to hear more to always improve as I’m at a loss because to be honest, my content hasn’t really changed any in terms of shooting/verbiage/themes/amount of time I spend on my blog. So I’m totally open to elaboration on your above comment and would truly love to hear more. I sent you over an e-mail to the address listed but it said it couldn’t go through :(. If you would send me another e-mail I would love to chat and hear what makes you think this is more dry because I truly want to work on that! I know I’ve had more mom/everyday chatty content this past January as that was something I had been requested, so if that wasn’t something applicable to you I completely understand. I’d love to hear more so I can see how best to serve you. What content do you find most inspiring? I would also keep in mind January is VERY tricky to shoot in when it’s 20 degrees out! haha. I have rented a few studios and homes for new backdrops, but honestly not sure if that is what you meant! haha. Definitely, want to be able to work on what you meant! Thank you for whatever you can share! xo, Katey

  5. So beautiful Katey! I just love to read you blog posts! It’s like opening a present of what’s stylish, fun and educational – usually has some girly hue, something sparkly like Maxi glitter & bows – almost always glam! Even the DOLLY T-shirt in bed with the towel on your head was glam! ?
