Should You Try Microneedling? Glopro on Sale!

The Details

Robe | Glopro Set

On Tuesday I tried the new “Ask a question” feature on Insta Stories. I absolutely loved it! It’s no secret, I’m terrible at staying on top of direct messages, but this feature was amazing. I had a lot of fun chatting with you all through messages and then the follow-up e-mails meant a lot!

A repeated question I got was about microneedling, so I thought I would save it for today’s post! Because guess what girlfriends? The Glopro set is on sale today for $169 as a set, as compared to $269.

Personally, one of my favorite 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchases was my Glopro.

What is the Glopro?

Glopro is the Allure Best of Beauty Award Winner at-home microneedling device. Microneedling allows the skin to regenerate. Small tips penetrate your skin {it is not uncomfortable to me, feels like a comb on my face} and your cells respond to restore volume. The red LED light and vibrations aide the regeneration process to give you a more noticeable result. This stimulates blood flow, which promotes healing. Sound like a mouthful? Want the COFnotes, like Sparknotes, but frivolity related? 😉

Microneedling is going to create teeny tiny tears in the skin {that sounds scary, but it’s so small you wouldn’t see} and as your skin goes to heal, your body’s “repair mode” goes full force. In the process, this helps fine lines, stretch marks, and wrinkles disappear. Mico-needling, a variant spelling, is also renowned for reducing scars and improving skin texture.

Not only does your skin go into repair mode, it also allows your products to absorb better. With all the layers of skin, your skin really doesn’t get the full potency {or potential} of your skincare products.

Why the Glopro?

I personally bought the Glopro for a few reasons. One, my girlfriend had tried other at-home microneedling products and liked them, but got a little nervous about the quality. I mean if you are essentially disrupting a layer of your skin you want to be careful, right?! She started to use the Glopro and wouldn’t stop telling me about it. I watched about 50 before and after reviews online and bought it last NSale. From my research, I found that the LED light on the Glopro is what causes the healing to be so noticeable and makes this product unique.

Two, I liked that it will work with products and without!

You could use the Glopro religiously without powerful serums after and it is still going to cause your skin to regenerate and aide in removing stretch marks and fine lines. So if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, here is a skincare product you can totally use! Yay!

Ultimately, I was intrigued that this could be a product I would continually use even when I wanted to test other serums.

Glopro Results

I used my Glopro religiously, but I will be honest, when we all got sick with the flu January/February I slacked. I picked it back up in May and am so glad I did. The fine lines around my mouth are so much more smooth when I use this frequently. In fact, I asked my dermatologist about the fine lines when I wasn’t using it and she recommended I use a tool like the Glopro and I said, “Oh I have that! That’s why these are showing up, I stopped using it.

To me, this also allows my masks to work a lot more effectively. My skin looks plump after using- they even have a lip attachment people use if they want the fuller lip effect. I haven’t tried that but looks fun.

How I Use the Glopro

I use this in conjunction with my regular skincare routine! I currently use it about three times a week {but start using it twice a week, I know some people that use it more than I do} after I use my SK-II. The Glopro helps your skin absorb products better by 200% so that combined with my SK-II {I use that daily} allows me to use LESS of my serums and products, so I’m technically saving money in my beauty routine. 😉

I apply my serums, oils, or treatments within the first minute after I use my Glopro! However, you want to avoid acid-based serums or benzoyl peroxide. If I’m going to use acne products or a highly concentrated acid product, I use that on a night I don’t use the Glopro. I really use this on nights I use my Colleen Rothschilds’ retinol products.

This set on sale comes with:

– GloPRO Microneedling Regeneration Tool –What I use!

– Face MicroTip Attachment- What I use!

– Body MicroTip Attachment

-Travel-size The Sculptor Skin-Firming Body Cream (1 oz.)

-Travel-size The Quench Restoring Quadralipid Cream (1 oz.)

-Travel-size The Quench Reviving Eye Balm (0.17 oz.)

-Skin Prep Pads (5-Pack)

-Empty Sanitizing Spritzer Bottle

Glopro Tips

  • If you have a breakout or broken skin, avoid using it that night. You don’t want to spread bacteria!
  • Always clean your Glopro with isopropyl alcohol you put in the sanitizing spray bottle {comes in kit}, this also helps prevent the spread of bacteria.
  • I always use a toner and essence before I use my Glopro to make sure my face is really clean! I just started to use these pads as well.
  • I have stretch marks on my thighs from pregnancy and I always forget to apply a stretch mark cream. I use my Glopro on it {with the body attachment} and see a major difference.
  • Replace the head of your Glopro every 3 months.

Let me know if I missed any of your questions! Get it on sale here.

Hi why wouldn’t you want to use benzoylperoxide with the glow pro? Would a benzoyl peroxide face wash prior to using be ok?

Hi Nancy! The wash prior would be okay, I think the benzoyl could just be irritating to the skin with the pricks immediately after. I hope that helps! xx, Katey

  3. The Glopro sounds amazing! Would you happen to know if it’s safe to wear makeup the day after using the GloPro or will the open channels absorb the makeup? Will a primer the day after, further seal in bacteria into the skin, the day after using GloPro? I hope this makes sense. xx

Hi Jelena! Absolutely! You can totally wear makeup and a primer the next day. It’s such microscopic tears that once you sleep you’ll be good. You could use benzoyl or another acid in the morning! I hope that helps girl! xx, Katey
