Kiehl’s Products I’ve Repurchased & What I’m Trying Now

The Details

In partnership with Bloomingdales. All purchases and opinions are my own! Photography by: Angie Garcia

Fun fact, back when I worked in PR we got to work with Kiehl’s on a project. My co-worker Andrea was working on the account and she got sent a slew of products to use for media. I remember that day so vividly, swatching and lathering our hands with the different products. We had an electric tea kettle in the back and so we spent all afternoon organizing the products and sipping different teas. Okay, fine. It totally felt more like a girls’ day than an afternoon at work- but it’s probably one of my favorite memories with that job. While it was a regular day, there was something in that moment of realizing I really did get to do something I loved and continually learn about an industry that I was passionate about. It was just a feel-good afternoon and how could that not stay in your memory?

Since then, Kiehl’s has been a brand I have repeatedly purchased year after year. From the body cream {my mom’s favorite and Christmas gift of choice!} to the avocado eye cream, Kiehl’s is quite a skincare staple in any beauty guru’s medicine cabinet. Today I’m partnering with Bloomingdales and thought it would be fun to break down products I’ve repurchased {for years} from the brand and some products I recently bought and am trying out now!

Currently Trying:

Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate

Vitamin C called! Do you use it?! Okay, what about hyaluronic acid? I ran out of my vitamin c serum about two months ago and also ran out of my hyaluronic acid cream at the same time. I was intrigued by this product for the fact it’s a 2-in-1, so you’re getting a powerful punch of radiance-boosting acids along with wrinkle fighters. You can see in these photos it almost feels like a light cream but dries down. I enjoy that before makeup application in the morning because it won’t interfere with my primer. But you can also use this in the evening to get an extra dose of benefits. Serums always go after your toner!

{COF Note: you can layer serums! I get this question a lot and think of serums like vitamins for your skin. Some people need extra magnesium and vitamin d, some people need extra biotin and calcium. However, you can also use one like this if you don’t want to add too much to your routine.}

So why would this product be tempting to you? Well first, let’s talk about why vitamin c is good for your skin. By using this you are shielding your skin from free radicals and helping stimulate the production of collagen. You’re helping slow down the aging process and evening out any dark spots. So if you want to get an even skin tone, but don’t feel the need to hop on an intense retinol treatment just yet, I’d try this! Essentially, if you want a product that can be both a morning and evening serum and act as a one-stop shop by incorporating vitamin c and hyaluronic acid this would make your routine easier.

Calendula Herbal-Extract Alcohol-Free Toner

This is a soothing toner with calendula flower petals- you can see them in the bottle! It’s an extremely gentle product and I find it to be really soothing. When we get back home from a long day at the pool, I will wash my face, squirt the toner on cotton pads and actually leave them on my cheeks for 20 minutes like a “sheet mask.” It’s a non-drying toner, so by using it for a sheet mask hack, I am left with less dry or red skin after being in the sun.

Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash

I actually bought two of these face washes for my shower to remove my makeup! It is for normal to oily skin, but I don’t feel it is drying at all. This is a cream to foam cleanser, that is soap and sulfate free. I find this breaks down all grime and makeup, since you know I love to double cleanse. I’m using this as the first cleanser when I’m in the shower.

Calendula Serum-Infused Water Cream

Remember when I said I was trying some new summer night creams but many made me break out?! This one did not! This is a water-infused cream so you’re getting 24-hour hydration but not a greasy blemish-ridden situation. Calendula has 5 different discomfort-reducing compounds so this cream fights everything from texture to dull skin to aging. What makes it stand out to me? I love the texture and think it’s really fresh for summer. I even put it on my chest since that area gets more sun this time of year.

Repeat Purchases:

Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado

I think I’ve purchased this eye cream two or three times! A little jar will last you quite some time. It has avocado oil and absorbs within a minute. When you think Kiehl’s skincare, I would say many think of this fan-favorite eye cream. This also doesn’t irritate my eyes!

Midnight Recovery Concentrate

People swear by this facial oil and say they toss their expensive prescriptions in favor of this. I have purchased this twice, and now feel a bit tempted to purchase again. This has lavender and evening primrose to give you a soft glow when you wake up. You press this into your skin and then massage, so if you use a facial roller this would be a great product to use in conjunction.

Lip Balm #1

Technically, this isn’t a repeat purchase from my wallet. However, my mom buys us this lip balm every single year and puts it in our stocking! I keep it in my nightstand and love using it before bed.

Magic Elixir Hair Restructuring Concentrate With Rosemary Leaf & Avocado

This is an amazing scalp treatment! I use this after I get highlights to help calm my scalp. I apply a small amount, massage in my scalp, brush, and then shampoo as normal.

Creme De Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter

This is probably the Kiehl’s product I have used the most over the years. This body butter is so, so good! My mom loves to give this as holiday gifts and I love to be on the receiving end. 😉 It feels like that whipped cream frosting off a cake and has the most decadent scent. Whenever I am at my parents’ house I always sneak in my parent’s bathroom and apply this body butter since my mom keeps her bathroom stocked with this.

What I am Buying Next:

Clearly Corrective™ Dark Spot Solution

I’ve read a few reviews this is amazing for leftover acne spots and you all know I love testing out different dark spot solutions! I also read a blog review that even if you have highly sensitive skin, this won’t’ break you out. I feel with Kiehl’s having more sensitive-conscious ingredients, this is the general consensus of their skincare.

I was tempted to do a post on beauty empties, so I could share brands I finish and what I think. I’ve actually tried a few times to do the post. I’ll keep a bin where I toss empty beauty products. But y’all, a few weeks in I get a little grossed out essentially having a bin of trash just waiting for me to review. Do you all like watching those? Or do you prefer a brand break down?

I purchased all of these from Bloomingdales, which if you haven’t- they give some of the best beauty samples. With my order, they ask which type of samples I want and I got two different sets of a slew of them. Yes, please!

Let me know what Kiehl’s products you love best and if there were any not on the list I should try. And if you want to streamline your routine with vitamin c, try that serum next!

The Midnight Recovery oil really is lovely. I think it’s just a good thing to have on hand on those nights that you want something on your face, but nothing too “active.” I also like the Midnight Recovery eye cream. I’ve tried the Avocado eye treatment, but sometimes the texture doesn’t work for me; maybe I’ll give it another go. The lip balm is awesome, of course. I’ve heard good things about the Rosa Arctica eye balm — want to try that.

I would LOVE to see an empties post. Since bloggers try so many things, it’s nice to know which products they liked so much that they actually used it up. And, there’s a better chance that we can get a report on results if the product was used consistently.

  4. I am one of those die-hards for the Midnight Recovery Concentrate! It totally transformed my skin and I’ve since tried so many other oils, from drugstore to La Mer, and nothing compares to the Kiehl’s!

As for your question about empties, I would LOVE that post! I totally get what you mean about holding on to trash in your cupboard though haha. But I think that especially for someone like you who tries so many different products, it really says a lot if you use something completely.
