Sephora Holiday Bonus Event

The Details

In partnership with Sephora. All purchases and opinions are my own!

There is one brand’s beauty event I always like to blog as they get me giddier than most: Sephora. Right now the Sephora Holiday Bonus Event is going on and all Sephora tiers can shop the sale. Let me give you the 411 if you are new here or you are thinking, “Sephora tier?! Huh? What on earth?

Never stress, I’ll tell you the details. First off, you can sign up here for Sephora’s Beauty Insider Program. They have so many perks to joining and no you don’t get 70830 e-mails, because I don’t like that either. You get birthday gifts, points per $1 towards sample products, in-store beauty services, and free beauty classes. I’ve actually done a beauty class as a girls’ night before with friends {such a great idea to mix it up from the usual dinner and drinks} and I learned a ton. Then you go up in tiers based on how much you shop, and you can earn things like free standard shipping, early access to products and more.

But in my {humble} beauty insider opinion, the best perk is shopping their events where you can get a flat percentage off your shopping cart. I like to blog these events as this is when I stock up on nice hair products and beauty repurchases, as well as trying new things. 20% off helps me feel a little less frivolous, ya know?!

This is my haul from my Sephora event and I wanted to break it down for you if you want to try something new in your order.

Now before you click “add to cart” let’s talk about savings:

  • ROUGE get 20% off purchase in store and online. Use code HOLIDAYSAVE
  • VIB get 15% off purchase in store and online. Use code HOLIDAYSAVE
  • Insiders get 10% off purchase in store and online. Use code HOLIDAYSAVE

New To Me:

  • Valentino Donna Born in Roma: I had sampled this at least 2 or 3 times while browsing in Sephora previously and decided to try it for the holiday season. It is a warm floral scent which is my favorite. It feels fresh, but perfect for fall with a bourbon vanilla note. It’s a scent that flirts back and forth with being made for day or date night. Plus, the packaging is fun with the traditional Valentino stud. It is a sweeter scent, and if you like Flowerbomb chances are you’ll love this one.
  • Tom Ford Gloss in “Crystalline”: I have yet to find a Tom Ford beauty product I don’t like, which is probably why I avoid trying them all too often. 😉 I had swatched the Tom Ford glosses during each pop in Sephora- which lasts about 30 seconds with Maxi because she wants all the makeup! They are soft, not sticky, and provide a pigment that you pay for. I got this gloss in “Crystalline” since it’s nude and I just always associate a great nude lip for fall. I have worn it daily.
  • Fenty Beauty Glossy Posse {I have owned two of the glosses before, but haven’t owned this set!}: I think Fenty glosses are one of the best-kept makeup bag secrets. Like Tom Ford, they aren’t sticky in the slightest. But they provide a shine that is unlike anything I’ve ever tried. In fact, I’ve purchased two lip glosses that claim they are as glossy and have been severely disappointed. After going through two of the glosses this year, I got this Glossy Posse set for a holiday gift. If you have a friend that loves makeup, grab her this. Or you can break up the set and pop the glosses in cute coffee mugs to share with all your friends.
  • IGK Mistress Balm: This is a product recommended by COF readers and one I must thank you all for. Many of you said this product is great for softening your hair when you air dry it with waves {like my hair is!}. But I also just use this daily to help hide a much-needed hair trim and more. A little goes a long way and it feels more nourishing than hair oil.
  • Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette- Ghost {I have owned some of these in individual pans}: I always share that I’m picky with powders because I want them to be fine and not catch on any liquid makeup. That’s when you can create that “cake” look. Hourglass powders are wonderful for highlight, and I have repurchased their Ambient Light powders more times than I could count. I decided to get this in palette form and the nice thing is you can honestly blend the top three for a highlight or the bottom three for blush. But you can also use each individually if that is what you prefer, too.
  • Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder: I got this powder to keep in my purse for touch-ups in the t-zone during the day. I had heard this is a powder with a great blurring effect, and so far that holds true. I purchased in shade “Fair” as I put it in my t-zone. However, if I were to use this as a powder I lightly dust all over, I would probably go with “Medium” since I do like to self-tan.

Repurchased:

  • Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Concealer: If you like Tape Shape, but want something a bit thinner, you’ll love this. If you like GA Luminous Silk Foundation, you’ll love this. I’ve actually tried to purchase two other concealers to see if I could top this and I went back to my good old Giorgio Armani. I use this under my eyes in the lightest shade: 1. For reference, I am 3.5 in their foundation. This stuff blends like a dream but doesn’t thin out to where you have lost all pigment. It keeps dark circles covered, but you get no creasing under the eyes.
  • Bite Beauty Multitick in “Lotus: This is a repurchase from about 3 years ago, but once I had my eye on it, I knew I wanted to try it again. It is comparable to MAC “Snob” but a bit deeper in tone. It’s like “Snob” for fall! ha. You can also use this on your cheeks as it is a multistick, but I don’t do that. I just like that it is a MATTE multistick as most are so shimmery, meaning this lasts all day. Bite Beauty is also considered clean at Sephora.
  • Buxom Plumpline in “White Russian“: Let me tell you a little lipstick secret. If you dab the center of your lipstick with a really neutral shade, it will give the appearance of a much fuller pout. That’s all good and well, but it is so hard to find a lipstick that can go on TOP of your other lipstick and not mess it up, while still being a powerful pigment. Many lipsticks you try this with won’t even be able to permeate your original lipstick shade, so you end up with goopier lipstick and wasted product. Buxom Plumpline in “White Russian” is the trick! This is a repurchased pencil on my end, and it is amazing. It is sold as a lip liner, but I don’t use it for that. I’ve used these as lipsticks in multiple colors. However, I like to use “White Russian” to dab in the center of my lips. It doesn’t come across too strong or anything. It just gives this naturally fuller effect.
  • Nest Holiday Candle: If there is one scent that makes me think of my home it is the Nest Holiday Candle. No, I don’t burn this all year, but it was the first luxury candle I ever purchased. Each time I smell this, I still think of my first apartment after college and how this sat atop a sideboard from Homegoods and filled my apartment with so much joy as I watched Gossip Girl. haha. I always pick one up during the holidays because nothing else reminds me of Christmas morning, quite like this candle does.

Swatches top to bottom:

Buxom Plumpline in “White Russian”, Bite Multistick in “Lotus”, Tom Ford Gloss in “Crystalline”, Fenty Glossy Possee Set

This is the Buxom Plumpline all over lips with Tom Ford gloss on top!

A few notes, you can use your discount as often as you want online and in store during this event. However, make note that this event ends Monday 11,11. Discounts don’t apply to taxes, shipping, or other fees. And some limitations will apply. Enjoy the event while you fill your makeup bag and stockings. What are you going to shop for?!

  1. Hi Katy!

Your blog is the only one I make the time to read! The diversity in content is wonderful and really helps by giving great ideas and suggestions in so many areas that I don’t have the time (or your style) to do! So thank you.

I would love to know what brand the shoes (black miles with rhinestone band) you are wearing in your Sephora post today ?
