Nordstrom Sale Picks

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has started today and with this tiered sale {you shop base on access days} there are plenty of neutral items to add to your capsule wardrobe. If you don’t need anything for fall or your little ones don’t need things for winter, feel free to pass on by this post and I’ll see you tomorrow with some party photos from Harry’s first birthday! But in case you have a few things on your list, I’ll be sharing COF-approved finds today, and a try-on haul later this week. I don’t know about you, but between pregnancy and nursing- this mama needs some sweaters that fit/aren’t stretched out from baby bumps. ha. I’m not purchasing all of this {nor am I suggesting you do} but if you’re looking for some gift closet items {#6} or wardrobe staples {#20} this post is here to take time away from your scrolling. And as always, if you are shopping, I truly appreciate you shopping from my links as I earn a small commission that allows me to create content for you.

As Seen on COF:

  • Wrap: I purchased this wrap from the Nordstrom sale last year, and it is one of my favorite items that would definitely make my capsule wardrobe. Since we live in an area with mild falls, I can throw this over a white tee and denim and be seasonally appropriate, while dressed for the weather.
  • GloPRO: I’ve talked ad nauseam about the GloPRO, but it is such a brilliant skincare tool to have in your product stash. If your goals are helping fine lines, if you are pregnant or nursing and can’t use retinol, if you choose to use more natural skincare products, if you don’t want to use something daily….don’t skip the GloPRO. Check my blog post here for more information.
  • Deodorant: I switched to natural deodorant years ago, but prior to that I was beyond loyal to Donna Karan. I know many of you still prefer DK, and wanted to share that you could get it during the sale. Earlier this year it went out of stock and there were rumors it would be discontinued. But it is here now and you can grab it in a pack of 3!

  • Fix +: When you see Fix + you might think of the setting spray used at makeup counters in malls everywhere. But did you know all the things it does for your products? You can read my blog post here. This set is a great price!
  • Nécessaire Body Wash: I know, I know, it is expensive. for better, or for worse, I’m obsessed with Nécessaire. I have eczema and have to be so careful with body washes as the fancy once typically flare my skin up. Nécessaire feels indulgent with the texture, formula, and spa-like eucalyptus scent. But it is a really natural product that doesn’t irritate my skin.
  • Curling Iron: I use two different curling irons, depending on the look I’m going for. I’ll go in waves {no pun intended} where I use one for months and then the other for the following months. Both irons are on sale here {in blush} and here. If you need help deciding which one is for you, this post breaks both of them up.

  • Barefoot Dreams Blanket: Poor Barefoot Dreams, people love to poke fun at the brand online, mostly because of the blogger obsession with them. 😉 But as I sit here in bed with one on my lap, another on Maxi, and her baby blanket {also Barefoot Dreams} clutched in her arms, I’d say they are well with it.
  • Spanx Leggings: I probably wear Spanx leggings more frequently than denim in the winter, as I find they are far easier to layer with. You can grab Spanx leggings on sale during the sale {I take a small, they do run snug, so don’t size down} and you can see how I style them in this blog post.
  • Kid Hunter Boots: Maxi is absolutely obsessed with her Hunter Boots! During the lockdown last year, she’d go outside in a nightgown and her Hunter Boots and “tend” to her garden for an hour. It was so cute. I grab her Hunter boots during the sale each year.

  • Stokke Tripp Trapp: We used the Stokke Tripp Trapp from around 2-right before she turned 4 and it was the absolute best! While this can be used as a baby high chair, we used it as more of a toddler chair. You hear so much about baby gear and less about things needed for tots- but I’d say this was a must for us! She was able to eat at the table with us and sit safely. We gave ours to a friend that needed it, but I’ll definitely use a Tripp Trapp for Harry when he is older!
  • Rikki Mirror: This is my makeup mirror and it makes a fantastic Christmas gift for the girl that has everything. I always say if you are unsure of what to gift a daughter or daughter-in-law, go with a Rikki mirror!
  • Diptyque Candle Set: I grab this set during each Nordstrom Sale to stock my gift closet. I add them with gift cards for teacher gifts or wrap one with a bow when I need a last-minute hostess gift. Who doesn’t like a luxury candle?!

  • Brow Pencil: I have used this brow pencil for nearly a decade and always grab this set during the sale! It comes with their brow gel, which I use every single day to tame my baby hairs. I prefer brow gel to hairspray because it lasts so much longer! I have a blog post on my brows here.
  • Puff-Sleeve Tee: I have this Veronica Beard tee in a charcoal hue and it is one of my favorite long-sleeve tees. The sleeve detail dresses it up a notch, but it isn’t overwhelming in size. I sized up in it. If you want to try this style for less, there is also this version on sale under $40.
  • Pajamas: I have had a few of these pajamas over the years- and actually always take them to the hospital when I have delivered M&H. They are extremely soft and wash well. I’ll be ordering the leopard pair.
