Our Place Pan Review

The Details

Shop the Always Pan Here, code KATEY10 | In collaboration with Our Place. All opinions are my own!

We went to Maui for our Honeymoon, and on the long flight home, we started talking about what we had to do in the 2 days before Paul went back to work. I knew I wanted to go to the DMV and get my name changed and we mentioned some gift cards we had. We decided to take them and splurge on a nice set of pans that everyone raved about. The price was steep, but surely they’d be great if everyone loved them?

Years later and we still have buyer’s remorse. It pains me to say that, but it’s the truth. You probably never even see me cook with them on Insta Stories because no matter what oil or heat we use food sticks, they are a pain to clean, and they take up so much space.

I love to be in the kitchen, so over the years, I’ve found others simply to avoid washing the “post-honeymoon” pans. Those are what you see me use to cook, and you probably see me use the Our Place Always Pan the most frequently. In fact, I tag them so much on Insta Stories, that when they reached out to work together I felt like a glorified Instagram stalker. ha. As I’ve learned more about the company, my obsession with the Always Pan has turned it into a company I tell everyone about.

What is Our Place?

Our Place is a company that believes in the power of home-cooking to bring people together. As a founding team of immigrants, they found “their place” in America through sharing food in new communities.

Through ethical labor and responsible materials, they create products to honor traditions, culture, and connections.

They talk the talk and walk the walk, and for each of their collections, they find partners to change the communities they share. Their most recent partner was Feeding America, and during COVID-19 they were able to donate over 200,000 meals to fight hunger.

That ALONE makes me want to gift this pan to each and every bride I know! But let’s talk about the product that made me fall in love with the brand.

What is the Always Pan?

Vogue is a fan. The New York Times is a fan. O Magazine is a fan.

It sold out 10 times.

It’s under $150.

The Always Pan is a pan that is an 8-in-1 piece so no matter your amount of space in your kitchen, you can have LESS mess and LESS cabinet space taken up.

It works as:

1) Steamer & Strainer
2) Sautee pan
3) Saucepan
4) Saucier
5) Skillet
6) Fry pan
7) Nonstick pan
8) Spoon Rest

It’s a one-pot meal dream, but it also makes cleanup even easier. You hand wash it, but food truly just falls off in soapy-water. It is non-toxic {formulated without teflon}, no PFAS, PFOAS, PTFEs, lead, cadmium, toxic metals, or potentially harmful materials. But it is an ultra-slick pan, so you can fry, toss, and sautee without ruining your pan or breakfast. It takes 10 seconds to hand wash, so you aren’t left soaking overnight. Paul is the dishwasher in the family and he is who got me obsessed with this pan. I, along with everyone else, was cooking up a storm during quarantine. We had gotten this pan at the beginning of 2020 and I loved how non-stick it was and how evenly things cooked, but it wasn’t until Paul raved every single night about how easy it was to clean that my ears perked up.

What is this pan again? It’s so easy to clean. Why do we still have those pans we bought after our honeymoon? Get more of these!

He’d say that every single night, but the thing is, we just kept cooking with this {we can even boil Maxi’s macaroni noodles in it} so there wasn’t a need to have 8 of them! We now proudly own 2, and I could convince myself to own more- BUT, if you have a small kitchen, it truly does replace a lot and you don’t need excess if you are more minimal.

It’s always on our stove because I’m always cooking with it, and the colors are stunning! I have Spice and Lavender. And if you want to try it, I have a code to Our Place! Katey10 gets you $10 off.

What do you use to grease the pan? We have one and I’ve used it half a dozen times and I find it to be just as sticky as my cheap pans and now it’s all stained just from cooking salmon!

Hi Bethany! Oh no! 🙁 I have never had anything stick, so I’m not sure why it is doing that. You cook their pans with low to medium heat, but if I ever add anything it’s olive oil or ghee. I hope that helps! xx, Katey

I’m sorry but this pan won’t last. I had scratches in the interior after second usage as the strainer handle protrudes and rubs the side of the pan. Most people not being sponsored have also said this pan is not worth the $140 price tag and is easily outperformed by lesser expensive pans. At least the customer service team is great when you want to return it.

Hi Vin! I’ve had this pan over a year and it has no scratches. I’m not currently sponsored by them and began working with them because I had posted how much I loved this pan *before* they sponsored me. Your experience may be that your pan got scratches {and I am so bummed for that!}, but my experience along with my family and friends that have purchased it {and aren’t sponsored} is that it lasts and they love it. I’m not diminishing your experience at all, and I’m truly glad customer service handled it for you. I’m just saying that is not my experience, which is why I chose to take this partnership. For me, I like this way more than my All Clad set.
