Best Affordable Skincare Duo

Whoever said diamonds are a girl’s best friend had obviously never seen my skincare drawer. 😉 I have shared these two affordable, clean, and effective skincare products all year on my Instagram, so here I figured it was time for them to have a permanent spot on the blog. If you aren’t familiar with INNBEAUTY, you will be soon as they just launched in-store at Sephora! Meet your new unicorn. Skincare under $40 that meets the Sephora clean standard and gives immediate glowy results. I started to use InnBeauty while nursing Harry and being hyper mindful of ingredients and I take the Slushy moisturizer with me EVERYWHERE. ha. I even use it to blend out self-tanner. I’ve partnered with them today as they are launching in-store at Sephora!

Let me break these two products down for you and then we can discuss the details on where to buy/try.

  • GREEN MACHINEThis is your Vitamin C serum. Vitamin C is great to brighten, tighten, firm, and reduce any pigmentation issues from sun exposure. It has the strength of high-priced competitors, but it isn’t irritating. So if you have sensitive skin, this is a great option to look at. The reason it is not irritating is that it has 250k plant stem cells, aloe, and a green complex of 15 green superfoods. Think of it as a topical skin vitamin- your daily green smoothie with an add-in of extra Vitamin C. I’ve used this product for most of 2021 and I would say the most noticeable difference is how even my skin tone is, while not using retinol or a slew of other products. With 2 babies and nursing, my evening skincare routine definitely slowed a bit the past year. But this was like a healing bandaid for that. 😉
  • SLUSHY SERUM MOISTURIZERThis is the product that surprises me the most! It’s lightweight but deeply hydrating. I have skin on the dry side, so when I saw this was a 2-in-1 product {a Hyaluronic Acid Serum + Moisturizer} I automatically assumed it would skimp on the payout. You know, like shampoo + conditioner products just isn’t as hydrating as an individual conditioner. I was so shocked by the nourishment of this, I suppose that is why I bring it everywhere and use it on everything from face to elbows. It has a plant-based retinol and I notice an automatic plumpness from the HA. If you don’t want to layer serums, you can use this as a 2-in-1 but I use Green Machine first and then this as my moisturizer. I even mix my self tanner in it and there are zero streaks on my face, neck, or chest.

This brings me to the order of skincare! I use these two in my morning routine, so here is a little cheat sheet for you to save to your phone!

Last week while in Malibu, we got to learn from Dr. Hadley King  a well-known Dermatologist and while she broke down a lot of anti-aging peptides and DNA-repairing products, but the tangible takeaways were quite simple. Wear sunscreen, apply antioxidants with Vitamin C being the most important. *Green Machine.* And make sure you’re using some retinol or retinol alternative. *Slushy.* And get sleep!

You can purchase these products here or they will be in all Sephora stores! So on your next makeup run, you can add these to your haul.

Thanks for this post! I rely back on your skincare post from January 2018 ALL THE TIME. As far as products in addition to these two, do you mainly still use products from that and your 2019 skincare update? I am recently finished breastfeeding so I am ready to incorporate some better skincare, retinol etc!

Hi Dana! So sorry I just saw this- some of my comments got hidden. For splurge, La Mer eye cream is my favorite!! It’s so good. But I use it so sparingly because of price. For a great daily one- I love the Kiehl’s Avocado one! xx, Katey

Hi Melinda! I truly apologize for my delay in response. We lost my aunt this week, and so I haven’t been on email or checking comments. Thank you for understanding!

My favorite winter body lotion is Kiehls Creme de Corps and Bliss Naked Body Butter is a drugstore dupe to that! You can get at Target. For spring and summer I love Necessaire body lotion, and Cerave body lotion is a dupe for that. I hope that helps! 🙂

      Xx,
      Katey
