Last week Texas got snow! Well…most of Texas got real snow. Dallas and Fort Worth got a few “snow flurries” but regardless, I figured that called for a cold weather wear post.

The week prior I had ordered these Sorel boots and matching Patagonia vest from Nordstrom. Because we don’t get freezing weather too often, I always love to look for inspiration online! One thing I notice from other cold weather looks I’m drawn to, is matching pieces! From a weekend at the ski lodge to running errands in a few flurries, it’s a safe bet your accessories aren’t going to make your look. In the summer I like to rely on stacks of bracelets and sassy earrings, but that is the furthest thing from my mind when it’s frigid out. I was excited to find these boots and vest even if they aren’t the same brand, because I think it made the look feel more polished and planned. Now if you like to run around in a vest and leggings, you need this top! I pick them up year after year and they are only $19. They cover the back of your leggings so you don’t feel uncomfortable tugging at your top.

Sorel also has these boots in the curry shade and I saw a girl wear them with an all black look and black vest. She paired it with a high ponytail and I thought she looked incredibly chic while in athletic wear. I just about snapped a photo of her for the blog but figured that was ill-mannered…

Now if it is more chilly where you live, I suggest topping this look with this jacket! And how cute is this pom beanie?!

What is your go-to look for running around in chillier temperatures?!

Sorrel boots are my favorite! Being from Colorado it makes me giddy to see the snow but I’m having trouble with all of my layers being to heavy. Love the Nordstrom long sleeve suggestion, does the top fit baggy or fitted?

Hi Lexi! This is a more oversized top, but not too baggy! I’m wearing a S, and it is loose but not sloppy! xo
