White Booties for Fall

The Details

Sweater {wearing size:S} | Jeans | Booties | Bralette | Necklace | Bag | Earrings

YES, ladies, you read that right. We have a fall post today. But it’s fine because I’ve already picked up fall candles from Homegoods and started burning them. I’m not usually one to fall in love with a Homegoods candle {I always feel like they are the rejects! haha.} but they have the best selection this season. Go to your Homegoods this weekend, get the “DW Home Toffee Pumpkin candle“. You’ll be thanking me when your entire home smells glorious.

If there is one trend I wish I could convince everyone to try, it would be a white bootie for fall or winter! I tried to convince you all here, then I grabbed a new pair here, and so you know I can’t go into fall one last time without doing my due diligence. Third times the charm, right?!

Honestly, I think the trend seems a little intimidating because you automatically think, “Will I look like I’m in a Halloween costume?” But I wore a pair on a media trip with other bloggers in March, and I’m telling you it was the thing they all complimented me the most on. They were all googling trying to buy my sold-out shoes, like those shoes made in Los Angeles, off e-bay by the end of the week! I was like, “Maybe I need to wear these more often…I never get complimented like this…ha!

The reason I love these shoes is that you can wear them with neutrals AND brights in the cooler months. Say you wear a pastel pink sweater with jeans, what shade do you go for with shoes? Black booties may feel a bit too dark and a cognac could feel like you’re clashing with a color palette. You’ve got a situation where your top half screams spring and your bottom half screams winter. When you wear a white bootie, you can style a pastel, a neutral, or a print with no second-guessing.

I think the most versatile way to wear these booties is with denim, but you could 100% buy them now and wear them with a sundress. They are 100% seasonless, so you get a ton of wear out of them. I went up half a size in this pair! And if I have failed at convincing you, don’t worry- this style comes in FIVE other shades as well.

Do you have any fun weekend plans?! Yesterday we had Paul’s parents and grandparents over for dinner. They brought fajitas and I had appetizers, desserts, and margaritas- going to share my recipe soon! They are SO easy and don’t leave you feeling gross from all the sugar. I say a big fat, “No!” to most restaurant margaritas because you might as well just eat an entire pan of brownies with the sugar. And if we are being honest brownies > margaritas.

I also wanted to make a quick note about blog e-mails! If you are subscribed, I am so sorry that you haven’t received your morning e-mail the past week and a half. You may remember from Snapchat, I’ve had issues with my blog e-mails for years! Well, we finally got to the bottom of it with my site redesign and now we are in the e-mail redesign phase. We had a call last week to go in depth and look at it all, and I can promise you it is worth the wait. I’m really excited to bring you your COF content via e-mail in a much better way. Wonder where the monthly favorites blog posts have gone? Those will be sent out via newsletter to subscribers and I’m the most thrilled about that design. I apologize that there is a little bit of downtime, but I hope the new look makes up for it. 😉

So my friends, will you be recreating this bright look for fall?!

P.S. This was part of my NSale lookbook, many pieces are back in stock so you can see it here!

I do! My high top ones actually went to my sister as I don’t wear the high tops as much as I expected. However, I bought a low top pair from eBay and wear them all the time! I’m actually doing a post on things I’ve bought from eBay on Thursday so hopefully that gives a few more ideas for them. 🙂 xo, Katey
