My Healthy Fall Favorites

The Details

Healthy Fall Favorites Kit | Skirt | Shoes | Photography by: Angie Garcia

Hey girl, hey! Today is quite exciting as my Healthy Fall Favorites Kit is launching! As we are now into fall, we make a few changes. We swap out our wardrobe, we maybe change up a lipstick, we add in some fall decor. But my favorite change to make? I like to update the beauty and health routine as the seasons change. You’re going to have different needs based on the time of year, so I update my routine accordingly.

I add in some elderberry syrup- gotta protect from those cold viruses! I use my Thieves essential oil a bit more liberally. I soak up extra moisture wherever I can.

To help you feel your best this fall, I had the honor of making a kit {it’s pink, of course!} with TULA called my Healthy Fall Favorites Kit! Let’s see what’s inside.

This is a $121 value, on sale for $99. If you use my code “KATEY” you get it for 20% off $99!

So why did I select these pieces to help you transition into fall?!

I wanted every girl to find a product in this kit she loved.

Maybe you haven’t tried TULA and you’re into wellness, but not so much serums. Try the kit, and share it with a girlfriend! There is something for everyone in this set and that’s why I selected the products this way.

For The Girl On The Go

Pink Makeup Bag

First off, I wanted to design a fun little makeup bag that played off my love of pink and love of organization. When you see things, you are automatically less frazzled and feel more put together. I hate digging around in my purse for one specific item, don’t you?! If you can see it, you’re not rummaging around an extra 30 seconds. This makeup bag fits quite a bit, but it’s the perfect size to toss in a handbag because it isn’t wide. I wanted to design a cute makeup bag for a girl who either travels a lot or is always on the go and needs her products easily accessible in her handbag.

For the Girl Just Trying TULA

Purifying Cleanser

I’ve used TULA for almost 4 years now and while I love to dabble in different products and switch up techniques, this is the ONE beauty product I don’t ever mess around with. In fact, I have SEVEN of these stockpiled in my bathroom cabinet 24/7. Paul and I both use it, my sister steals it, my girlfriends ask for it, and I fear running out of it. This bottle will last you 60-90 days because a little goes a long way. I personally get closer to the 90-day mark with it. Why am I so obsessed? I mean it’s just cleanser right, wouldn’t a serum be more exciting? Because this cleanser is a unicorn in the skincare world. It’s a gel cleanser that lathers. It removes impurities better than most any cleanser I’ve ever tried, but in a clinical study, 100% of women said their skin didn’t feel tight after using it. 100% of women also said they noticed an improvement in radiance in their skin after 2 weeks using this. It is a cleanser, but it does things cleansers don’t.

It’s also gentle! In my job, I test a lot of skincare products. I test a lot, so naturally, I do get bad experiences. Just three weeks ago I tested a new eye cream and it gave me hives around my eye for 4 days. That’s given when you work in the beauty industry. But about 3 years ago, I was testing a serum from a different line. Within 12 hours it looked like I had 8 bee stings all over my face. I was in so much pain and didn’t look like myself at all, my chin was the size of my fist. I went to the doctor because I seriously looked like Will Smith in Hitch. I was allergic to something in the product, so they had to give me medicine to fight the reaction. Turns out, I was also allergic to the medicine I was given and ended up rushing to a nearby medical clinic because the reaction was so bad.

All from testing a beauty product…

I say that {scary, yet funny and ridiculous looking back} story, to show that with all the skincare and new makeup I test in my job, my skin can absolutely freak out. And when I have an experience like that, I go back to the basics to get my skin under control. I just use this cleanser and nothing else for a few days, and I’m totally fine. This cleanser is to my face, what a juice cleanse is to your body. It resets you, it balances the oil and the dryness, it fights acne, it hydrates, it helps your skin glow. It’s my favorite because I know it’s the one thing in my bathroom cabinet that can get my skin back on track when it is freaking out from a product my skin doesn’t agree with. And now you know why I keep 7 on backup. Because you know…what if they ever stopped making it?! #ThingsIWorryAbout

I wanted to include the Purifying Cleanser for the girl that’s just getting into skincare and may not know where to look. I want her to experience a cleanser that I think is way more than your typical face wash.

For the Makeup-Obsessed Girl

Travel-Size Illuminating Serum

When you think about changing your makeup routine for the fall and winter, you probably look to a new eyeshadow palette or liquid lipstick. Don’t skimp the most important part- your foundation! Luminous Silk Foundation is my go-to as of late, but want to know my favorite foundation hack? Add in a drop of TULA Illuminating Serum on your damp beauty blender with your foundation. With Vitamin E, Citrus Extract, Safflower Oil and the anti-inflammatory Chicory Root, this product is like Champagne Pop highlight, but for your skincare. Now, you can totally use this after your toner, but y’all know I’ve been using the acne serum. So to get a double dose of benefits, I add a drop of this in my foundation and it gives the most beautiful glow. I’ve done this for a long time whenever my skin seems duller {especially winter time!} and I love it because you are getting a radiance, without adding layer of highlight upon layer of highlight.

Now a lot of serums can’t do this with foundation, because they’ll ball up and create extra texture on your face. Think of peeling Elmer’s Glue off your hands in school as a kid. But this product was designed to work with your makeup {under or mixed in} and so it blends like a dream.

This product also works to fight dark spots and help hyperpigmentation, so it’s a favorite of my postpartum mamas.

I had to include this product for my girls that love makeup hacks and can’t ever get enough highlight or glow!

For the Girl Prepping for a Big Day

Travel-Size Pro-Glycolic 10% pH Resurfacing Gel

If you’ve read my blog for a long time, you know all about Madison. She has done my makeup for special occasions for the past 11 years- here is my wedding makeup tutorial she did! She’s obsessed with TULA. When she meets brides for consultations, she breaks down their skincare routine and tells them things she wants them to change before the big day. She gives this product to her brides and tells them to religiously use it morning and night before their big day. Why? This is a resurfacing gel that transforms the texture of your skin. It’s an alcohol-free toner that gets rid of ALL the dead skin and helps diminish the size of pores. Madison tells brides if they don’t have time to commit to facials, they need to use this instead! This has natural mushroom and beet extract, turmeric {like my morning drink!}, and blueberry extract along with 100% natural lactobacillus probiotics and glycolic acid. I pump this onto a cotton pad and wipe all over my face after I wash before I use essence. This product is great for a girl prepping for a special day or even just wanting to get ready for the holidays so she looks her best.

For the Health-Conscious Girl

Daily Probiotic + Skin Health Complex, 30 Day Supply

Lastly, I am most excited about this kit because it is an opportunity for you to try one of my absolute must-have products: TULA Probiotics. When I first started using these a year ago, I did a month-long review. Since then, I absolutely hate to miss taking them. When I had to get off any vitamin or supplement before my surgery I was freaking out to not take these. Why? These probiotics have seriously changed my life- and I cringe even typing that on a fashion blog, but it’s honest. Many of you know, I started my blog since I was diagnosed with Discoidal Lupus as a child. I’m in remission now, but I do still deal with a compromised immune system. I get anxiety over cold and flu season. I hate knowing someone has had a stomach bug. I just know I’ll get it having a weaker immune system. Gut health is a huge key to your overall wellness, and that’s why probiotics are so special.

But now you may be wondering why a skincare brand has such a great probiotic?

A board-certified gastroenterologist created TULA, Dr. Raj. She had studied probiotics for over 20 years and noticed how probiotics not only impacted her patient’s health but also their skin. It balanced their skin issues, and there, TULA was born. That’s why TULA means balance! It was one of the first probiotic-based skincare lines, and so it only made sense to have a probiotic.

These probiotics:

  1. They are gluten-free, 100% vegetarian, Non-GMO, lactose-free, soy-free, artificial sweetener free and preserve free. They contain no artificial flavors or sodium magnesium stearate.
  2. They are created with a patented time-release capsule, to ensure they reach your intestine for maximum benefits, but this also allows them to be gentle. These are the first probiotics that do not hurt my stomach!
  3. They are one of the only ones on the market that provide skin benefits. These probiotics contain a strain clinically proven to provide skin benefits with ceramides {the building blocks of skin} and your daily dose of Vitamin C to enhance collagen production.
  4. They are shelf stable at room temperature and TULA has taken extra precautions to ensure capsules are never exposed to heat or humidity prior to the blistering process. This includes storage in temperature-controlled facilities and transported by temperature-controlled trucks. YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE how many brands don’t do this. As I was learning about this product years ago, I learned how even brands that “refrigerate in store” do not have temperature-controlled trucks, so the strain is ruined by the time it hits the shelf. Many big brands also use filler in their probiotics so you think you’re getting more for your money.

You can see my first-month review here, but what has happened since then?!

  1. When I religiously take these, I’m able to not pick up all the viruses Maxi gets. Kissing a sweet toddler is like kissing a TSA bin. SO. MANY. GERMS. I have to be proactive so I don’t get sick and can take care of her.
  2. I don’t deal with bloating anymore, even around hormonal times.
  3. This product has been a huge catalyst for healthy habits in my life. I feel so wonderful when I take these, that I truly hate if I miss taking them. Because I make it such a priority to take them each day, it reminds me to take my daily vitamins, drink more water, and make better choices. I would struggle to remember my prenatals and now Paul says I’m so regimented with my morning drink and routine.
  4. My eczema has gotten so much better! I’ve had eczema since I was little and in the past year, I also have been able to stop using prescription eczema creams because I’m on this.

When I talked to TULA about a kit, the first thing I said was we had to center it around health and we had to center it around these probiotics. I could sing my praises of these all day long, and it makes sense given Dr. Raj is behind TULA! So for anyone that wants to be proactive with their health this fall, this product is for you.

I hope that you love this kit as much as I do, but most importantly I hope any girl can find a product she loves inside this pink makeup bag! I truly tried to design this kit with that in mind and I’m so grateful to share it with you all today. I had the privilege of being one of the first bloggers to even test TULA years ago and to this day, it is one of my favorite things to share. I have seen how they make their products and I have worked a retail-floor for TULA {for free, I genuinely want to do anything to help share this product} helping girls find the right product for their skin. It’s always a dream to get to design something with their products in mind for you and this kit is just that!

Shop my Healthy Fall Favorites Kit and can’t wait to hear about your favorite product! Don’t forget “KATEY” for your discount!

So close to pulling the trigger on these probiotics! I’m really intrigued by your review on them — especially about not getting sick as much. I also have an autoimmune disease and have always caught every virus I come in contact with (it sucked when I would go visit my elementary-school-age nephews and niece, and now it sucks royally that I have my own children in preschool!). I’ve never been big on taking vitamins (so much seems like snake oil, honestly) but I am Vit D deficient and I think good gut health will make a difference in my overall health. May just work myself up to it today!

Hi Katey! Ok, so my carries the resurfacing gel, I’m getting married in 25 days, because this product pulls out impurities, I’m not too close to my wedding date to use this am I? Thinking in regards to breaking out. I don’t tend to break out from facials so I feel like I should be good.

I already bought the kit and I’m so excited to try the probiotic. I have recently been on the hunt for one and this couldn’t have come out at a better time! I’ve been meaning to ask Katey, what elderberry syrup do you use and what does Maxi use for her probiotic (I have a little one too)?

Hi girl! Aw thank you so much for your support! I get elderberry made local from a FW girl so I just pick up from her house. Not sure if you’re local, but her business is called “Linked Together by Love.” For Maxi’s probiotic our pedi told us to just use Culturelle Kids and I put it in her water. I hope that helps! 🙂 xx, Katey

Hi! Thank you for introducing me to Tula a while ago! I use it along with a mix of safe beauty products. My skin is looking pretty good at 36! I fee like I’m doing this all over again, but do you mind reminding me which Tula products are not safe during pregnancy! My son is now 6 and I forgot what pregnancy does to my skin!
    Thank you!!

Hi Katie! Thank you so much for reading my blog! I don’t know which exact products have retinol, but I know their night cream, advanced repair cream and illuminating serum has it. I would use the face wash! 🙂 And then I would also use PH gel pregnant, but I do need to double check on ingredients. I think gel cream is also fine to use! I know if you e-mail them, they will give you the exact list on what is safe! And I just want to make sure I give you the exact products for your sweet little babe! xx, Katey
