The Affordable Bikini You Have to Try for Summer

I don’t share a lot of swim on the blog, but when I found a more affordable version of a swimsuit my sister had and she was jealous of my find- I knew I had to dedicate a post to this! 😉 Enter, my favorite $22 bikini for summer. It’s got precious pom poms like many swimsuits do thanks to the popular trend and a high waist, so you can run around comfortably. I’m wearing the size S, and for size reference, I’m 5’3″! I’m also wearing the “Rosy” shade, but this comes in an array of colors and prints if pink isn’t your cup of tea!

Aside from the price and pom poms, my favorite thing about this bikini is the fit! I typically find a lot of swim bottoms to be extremely cheeky and smaller {in terms of cut} than what I envisioned. This is flirty, but gives good coverage on the bottoms and doesn’t feel like it’s too tight or too loose, like some more affordable fabrics can lean.

My sister compared this to her swimsuit and she said it felt identical! And I can attest it holds up well to swimming with a little one and naps by the pool and resorts like those on Ko Phi Phi. I just wash on gentle and let it lay to dry as I do with all swimwear.

Shop it here.

On the topic of lounging by the pool, let’s talk about my beach reads! I finished three different books, so let’s chat about them.

The Wife Between Us

SO good! Now full transparency, I finished this night one as I just had about 10 pages left. I love suspenseful novels and I enjoyed the fact this one was constantly changing. Every few chapters you think, “Wait?! Did I read that correctly?!” It keeps you interested. I gave it to my sister once I finished and she never reads fiction, and she LOVED it!

All We Ever Wanted

In true Emily Giffin fashion, it’s the perfect beach read. My friend Diana kept saying how she loved it because her emotions would flip all over the place. You constantly wonder who is telling the truth and gives you a bit of a scare for parenting in today’s day and age. It was a book I kept going back to our room to read, and that’s when you know you loved it!

The Young Wives Club

This was a bit more cheesy in regards to all three and the dialogue felt a tad bit naive. That may not be the best way to describe it, but it’s a Hallmark movie of beach reads, but in the BEST way! It’s an easy read if you are nursing a baby or trying to keep up with a toddler. I like to read in Maxi’s room with her while she reads, but some books like The Wife Between Us have me rereading paragraphs to make sure I caught it all. This is a book you can read in a weekend and you finish it with a happy heart and smiling. And honestly, sometimes you just need a book like that to help de-stress you!

What book should I read next?!

  1. Cute bikini, Katey! The colour really suits you. Love the book recommendations as well – I’ve heard of a few of them. Definitely going to get All We Ever Wanted – Emily Giffin is one of my favourite authors! 😀

    Hi Katey,
I just finished A Double Life, it’s a thriller and I loved the way it was written. Side note, I want to order the bikini but I’m not sure if I should go with a small or medium, as I am pear-shaped and a little bottom heavy. What would you suggest for a 5’3″ and 116lbs?
    Thanks!

      Hi Heather!

Ooh- I will have to order! Thank you so much!! So I’m more broad shoulder and flatter down on my bottom- maybe a medium?! BUT I will say I’m 5’3″ and around 110 and the small fit me great so you and I seem to be similar in that regard! Oh gosh, this is hard! I don’t know if that helps or not. haha. xx, Katey
