Fall 2019 Decor

Yesterday, I blogged a fall sweater and as I type this I’m drinking Nut Pods Pumpkin Spice Creamer- the BEST if you hate coffees that are too sweet and syrupy. It’s October first! Is it that cliché I’m blogging fall decor today?!

I whip out fall decor pretty early each year, typically the first or second week of September. To me, it signifies the house is about to be cozy the next few months with decor. Come January I get tired of everything and so I strip all my knick-knacks down. But around September 10th GIVE me all the glitter and festive items from Homegoods you can find!

I reused most of my MacKenzie-Childs pieces from my fall tour last year and then picked up a few extra goodies from Homegoods and Hale House. I love that my black and white pumpkins blend in with my touches of leopard in the living room. Now you may be noticing more leopard spots {pun intended} in my home, so let’s talk about that! I caved and put my coffee table in storage- AKA my sister’s apartment. One Sunday about a month ago, Maxi was doing as toddlers do. She was snuggling on the couch watching Mickey Mouse or something, playing with her babies and Peppa Pig. Peppa fell, so she reached over {as any good mother does to her babies ;)} to pick her up. 5 seconds later I hear THUD on the ground. Maxi hit her cheek on the coffee table and ran to me to kiss it. I rocked her, then told her she was brave and back she went to watching her movie.

I start to cook dinner. Peppa fell again. Same scenario happens over and over.

Y’all, it happened like SIX times that evening and ended with her scratching her cheek. So I did what any first-time mom freaking out does an I called my sister and said, “DO YOU WANT MY COFFEE TABLE FOR THE NEXT 4 YEARS?!” Okay, I wasn’t that dramatic- but my husband thinks I was. I told Paul this was just a little warning to what COULD happen. ha. Anyways, then I called my mom and asked if she had any ottomans I could borrow. She keeps everything and always has extra furniture in storage. Naturally she did and even more naturally it was leopard. You know I’m thrilled to be borrowing something in my favorite print. This is where this one is from.

Leopard saga over. So while most of this decor is older, I hope you feel the coziness that I want it to exhibit for others! Saturday night we stayed in reading books with the diffusor going and the pumpkin lights on and it felt pretty magical, despite the lack of cool temperatures. Tonight we are hosting our community group from church and so I’m thrilled to have a full house with all the fall scents and feels.

If you have fall home tours or decor posts on your IG or blog, feel free to drop that in comments below! I almost think I like to see fall decor online over Christmas because it can feel less intimidating. When I see pumpkins I don’t necessarily think that equates to hours wrapping a tree in ribbon. 😉 Plus, I love how different personalities and style decorate. Some people nix fall decor, some people do white pumpkins and all neutrals, I lean towards black and white. What do you do?!

You can see last year’s post here.

Happy October!

p.s. Some of the MC pumpkins may say the page doesn’t exist and that’s because the items are older. I’ll try to find updated pieces!

p.s.s. Don’t forget you can shop the rest of my living room decor on the LTK app here! You just click and lots of things are sourced.

Can you please do a blog post with your sister’s apartment! Seems like she gets a lot of your stuff and it’d be fun to see how she styled it!
