The Merry Christmas pillow is from my local hallmark! Similar

I definitely got a head start with decorating this year for Christmas! We actually decorated on Halloween because I’m having surgery today [It’s for a problem I’ve had since I was little and I didn’t intend on saying anything because I’ve preplanned all my posts and I’m a little private about it. BUT I knew y’all would see me snapchat Netflix for the next week so I figured I’d go ahead and disclaim I’m not THAT lazy! Just recovering! 😉 ] But I actually loved doing it on Halloween! I’m not a big Halloween person at all [I can NEVER think of a costume idea. Ever!] so I honestly loved this little tradition and may want to continue it! If you’re married but don’t have kids yet, holidays like Halloween can be a little awkward. Like where do we go?! So this was something fun for newlyweds to do and you get all the good ornaments before they are sold out!

Although not traditional, I’ve always wanted a white tree! This one has “faux snow” on it so it seems a little more realistic! 😉 And in true Paul fashion, he didn’t care about ornaments! Naturally. haha. But he did want colored lights because he had those growing up. Those aren’t my cup of tea, but we actually found this tree that has four light settings: white, colored, white and colored, white blinking.  So I got my white tree, gold ornaments and whenever he thinks I’m not looking he puts it on the colored lights setting! It’s so funny! Of course I wouldn’t care if he left them on all the time, but it just cracks me up he thinks he is sneaky. I just want to say, “Babe. We live in an 1100 sq. foot home. I see the lights!”

I loved having a white tree because for now I have lots of white and gold ornaments [with the occasional red Texas Tech ones for Paul!] but I feel like when we have kids and they come home with those little preschool ornaments they will be seen even more! Each Christmas Eve my mom gives my sister and I an ornament that she thinks “describes” us, so if you see doughnut, mermaid and unicorn ornaments in the photos I swear I didn’t force that upon my husband! haha! I just have a sweet little collection my mom has given me since I was little. 🙂

But if you want to do a Winter Wonderland tree like mine or need some extra trimmings I’ve compiled below my exact items or similar to help get your decorating started! I also linked my bar cart items too!

I hope you have a wonderful start to your Thanksgiving week!
