Give me a babysitter for an hour and I don’t run off to get a manicure or browse a boutique. 9 times out of 10, I would always choose to organize. To me, an organized space is a calm space and I need all the calm I can get! {You can read my tips on a peaceful home here.} I’ve always enjoyed sharing how I organize places and spaces on COF, and plan to continue as long as y’all are interested. ha! But I wanted to create a master list that allows you to find how I organize major things in our home, in one place. I will add to this list as I share more blog posts if this is helpful.

Makeup

Makeup can be such a frustrating thing to organize and is probably the item I hear women complain about the most. First off, you’re reaching for it multiple times a week, so there’s a huge opportunity for it to be constantly messed up. Whereas a linen closet isn’t rummaged through daily. Makeup also has fallout, so it gets dirty. But ultimately, the price of makeup is what outweighs these issues. I want to see my makeup, so I use it. When I keep my makeup in a makeup bag 24/7 or in a drawer, I personally, don’t use it all. I won’t be able to find a specific red lipstick, so then I run to Sephora and buy a second. I use a GLAMbox {petite full lid} to store my makeup. Then I just use plant-based cleaning wipes to wipe mine down each week. You can also use the acrylic cleaner from Container Store. You just don’t want to clean acrylic with Windex! These are currently sold out, but I’ll check back when they are in stock

I also have a marble tray to store any current skincare or lotions I’m using! If you have any new skincare products or items you are using, keep them on this tray. It allows you to test them the right amount of time to see if they work for you. You can also keep near-empty products on the tray, so you can fully use them up. Learn about the different furnace sizes residential to ensure you choose the right size for your home.

For makeup bags with travel or shoots, I use Hollis makeup bags! They are able to be wiped clean on the inside with a baby wipe, so it keeps things much neater.

These nesting baskets from Ballard Designs are my go-to for organizing Barbies, stuffed animals, and baby dolls. I love that they are easy to open and close so Maxi can get them or clean up as she pleases.

Another way we organize toys is with the Ikea Hemnes Table. See my blog post review here. This table has worked so well for us the past year! I’m not sure what I’ll do when organizing toys for two kids, but I recommend this table to anyone. Paul actually ordered us a larger sofa as a growing family, so I’ll have to see if it fits with that. Is it sad my first thought was, “But my Ikea table?!” haha. It’s THAT loved in our home. The baskets get a lot of questions on Instagram and they are also from Ikea in the blog post.

Linen Closet

The Linen Closet is another spot you all had questions on. You probably know by now that throw pillows are my weakness, and I’ve got to have some sort of system for organizing them. In my linen closet, I keep sheets, holiday baskets for Maxi, backup cotton items {cotton pads, q-tips, tissues, etc.}, candles, and throw pillows.

Third Row: Candles not in use. This doesn’t make the linen closet too overpowering but does give a a nice scent to the linens. Just keep the lids on most candles, so it isn’t too many scents going on.

Fourth Row: Throw pillow covers and a basket for kid sheets.

Fifth Row: Queen and king-size sheets, linen spray, tissues

Arts and Crafts

This is a section I will need to update, but I did want to include an item that we use to organize. I keep her “easy crafts” {crayons, Color Wonder markers, stickers} in our TV console. We can easily grab them for activities during the day. Then, I keep the bigger crafts {sensory boxes, painting, Play-Doh} in a built-in closet we have in our hallway. I need to photograph that to add!

I use these photo boxes to organize markers, crayons, and stickers on the go! They keep things neat at restaurants and at tables.

Jewelry

For jewelry, I use my Kendra Scott jewelry box and then a larger drawer in my dresser to store statement pieces. In our last house, I used a drawer in my closet, but it’s the same concept. You can see the full blog post here.

I also use these trays from Amazon to store jewelry in my dresser drawer. This is the best for delicate necklaces!

Headbands

With the headband trend, you may end up with them thrown in a bathroom drawer. They can be a pricier accessory, so keep them on display so you always use all the ones you have. Mine is from GLAMboxes here, but sold out. You can get a similar one on Amazon here or here.

Candle Jars

I use empty candle jars all over the house to organize lip glosses, mascara, cotton pads, pens, etc. Here is a blog post I’ve done on how to get the wax out of your candle jars. I think repurposing products you love is one of the best ways to organize because you are still incorporating your personal items/style while keeping things neat.

Greeting Cards

For greeting cards, I use this Hallmark box off Amazon to store them by occasion. I keep this in my office closet, where I keep gifts and wrapping. Shop it here.

Essential Oils

I’ve tried many ways to store Essential Oils, but I’ve found two things that work best for me. First, I keep bottles of oil in my pantry in this 2-tier lazy susan from Container Store. Then, I use this lipstick organizer from Anthropologie to store roller blends on my nightstand.
